      • +4

        Thanks.

      • +9

you couldve answered the question in less words than your reply

        • -1

Teach a man to fish & all that…

Seriously though, I haven't seen many others rushing to answer the asinine question either…yourself included! ;)

        • +3

because i dont know? and would have found your answer, had you written one, useful
asking a question is a valid way of fishing for answers

searching through old replies is such a 90s way of thinking. so much stuff gets posted on the internet these days each second, that it becomes like toilet paper. view once, toss aside (inside?). unless you like trawling through hundreds of search results

        • -4

Here's a hint, top right corner of the OzB page bro…"Search deals and forum topics"…not rocket surgery! If you really wanna be a 90's man you can even sort them by descending date! ;)

        • +3

StewBalls archives all his used toilet paper in case he needs to refer to it later.

        • in descending order so he can reuse the fresher ones first

getting the most out of quilton deals. true ozbargainer

        • -1

Why not, I do find more genuine wit & intellect on my dunny paper than I do around OzB at times! :p

Seriously, getting off your arse & using your head is now "a 90s way of thinking"…yep, that's the lazy, entitled Gen Y for ya. FFS, no wonder the quality of our graduates are going down the shitter, the uni's are full of these intellectual sloths who expect everything handed to them on a silver platter! ;)

        • with the amount of back and forth crap written that has nothing to do with the item you could have just replied with a link and a "3 page how to" on searching on google and ozb… no arguments about Gen Y but you just wasted a whole lota time on a pointless defense of you original pointless post… here's a link to a pat on the back! courtesy of google…

          http://www.edupics.com/to-give-a-pat-on-the-back-t13471.jpg

        • Seems like you don't mind wasting a bit of time on the pointless either scud, cheers for the link though! Off you go now, I'm sure there's lives out there that need saving! ;)

        • Rocket Surgery! LOL…

        • asinine

(new) word of the day, courtesy of OzB.

  • Lol I'm in the market for 2x decent sized SSDs, but the way the market is right now I'm too scared I'll miss out on the $20 per week saving. I reckon under $100 shipped for a good (Intel/Crucial) 120GB SSD is my buy in point. But these bigger SSDs are tempting for sure.

    • Might be a while before an Intel 120GB is $100. A 520 is currently $165 at cheapest.

    • I'm too scared I'll miss out on the $20 per week saving

      yeah, scary.

Umart has the OCZ Agility 3 240G SATA3 SSD for $199…, with 1 year RTB, saves additional unnecessary costs dealing with US based websites !

    • +3

Just no man. Agility 3 is no where near this SanDisk in speed. It is actually faster than the Intel 520 is some areas.

      • +1

hmm good point but what about warranties with SanDisk US is my concern ??? :S

  • Man, the price just keeps on coming down :-) I love it

  • No stock ….

    • You can still order it, its showing shipping 7-14 days for the 240, and instock for the 480.

      • I know you can order but they only charge your credit card when they ship. What happen exchange rate drop when they have stock then it is not worth it.

        • +2

That's for us orders. International orders gets charged immediately, there is a little note when u add it to the cart.

        • Thanks, my mistake

Sandisk Extreme is rated as one of the best ssd in this storage review website.

    http://www.storagereview.com/best_drives

It also received good review here:

    http://thessdreview.com/our-reviews/sandisk-extreme-240gb-sa…

    • Good links!

  • group buy to save shipping!!! anyone from Sydney CBD??? let me know!!! i missed out last good deal from BH, dont want to miss out anymore!

    • How is this worked?

      • no matter how much the shipping costs, we share.
        1 x ssd, $32.36
        2 x ssd, $33.46
        3 x ssd, $34.06

say, if you buy 2 ssd and i buy 1, the total shipping will be usd34.06, you pay 2 third of $34.06 (which will be approx. $22.7).
if you buy 1 and i buy 1, we halve $33.46.

anyway, it is just an idea.

        • im in pm sent

    • Registering interest too

Me four. God we are such a great ozbargainers.

      • +1

I hope you guys trust each other…

      • guys, please make sure you all work in the Sydney CBD area. (market street here) we can only order up to 5 ssd to be safe, making sure the total including postage is still way below $1000.

I can buy two, one for myself, one the other, without you chucking any money in advance. if you change your mind after a couple of weeks, i still can sell the extra one on ebay. but if more than 2 will be ordered, it is too risky for me. so two options:

        1. someone else who does not mind organises the purchase and make the initial payment.
        2. some amount of deposit, say $50.

I received one PM. if you are serious, pm me by today's lunch time.

    • i am interested … i am in Ultimo…

    • i'm in. please let me know if i still can join.

  • Perfect, was waiting for a good price on one of these. Shame about the shipping but still cheaper than anything local by about $40.

  • +2

Do they add PayPal fees on top? If not I'm not interested XD

These are good drives I just upgraded from a Vertex 3 120GB to 2 x 240Gb Sandisk in Raid0 using my onboard raid controller and I am getting over 1000MB/s reads and 550MB/s writes.

    • I read it from somewhere recently that the RAID using SSD will disable TRIM. Not sure if it's true and if it's bad to use SSD without TRIM though.

      • The next version of Intel’s RST driver is supposed to support TRIM in raid arrays. So yes the speeds will degrade over time but it's not like is is going to happen over night. By the time I see a substantial hit I'd say Intel would have released a new version of rapid storage.

  • I wouldn't mind getting 4 of the 64gb solid states and putting them in a raid 0…. :)

  • These SanDisk SSDs are great. Put one a few months ago into my lappy and haven't looked back since!!

  • Deal is finished, price is coming up as $179 now.

  • Out of stock

  • Please mark the deal as expired.

  • Oh No… too late… hoping for 480 GB Sandisk to come down soon.
