Dont know about qld but some stock came into sydney this morning so keep checking
Can't they just deliver from elsewhere in AU?
Bought this from TGG a few months ago for $1179 and got a $100 giftcard as well.
TGG a few months ago for $117
That is cheap.
Huh? $1179
How you liking it?
Have it hooked up to the PS5. I mainly play COD (4k120 is great) and Apex (still waiting on the 120hz update). It is a bit iffy sometimes with the PS5 and you get a blank screen when turning on from standby directly into a 120hz game but it fixes itself with a reboot.
Picture quality is great in Netflix and other streaming services. Sound out of the TV is good as well but i have it hooked up to a soundbar. It gets bright enough to watch with the blinds open.
UI is snappy and no issues there. Standard Google TV interface.
I would highly recommend this TV based on my use and the price I got it at. You wont find anything similar in the price range that supports the full array of features for the PS5.
Hard to get it again at $1179
Are you sure it was C835 or C825?
Care to share how did you buy it in $1,179?

Was $1276 and got a $100 TGG gift card from the promo.
Thanks mate, but i got a new tv a month ago.
If you're looking for a TV buy this. Absolutely no brainer deal. Excellent TV.
Arrrgggh. This is a pretty sweet deal. I was all set to buy this TV just last week. After a bit of decision making between other members of the family, it appears the next purchase will be a an X90k.
Bit of background is we have a Hisense P7 that is 4 years and 3 months old. A couple of weeks ago, it started turning off spontaneously when in use. It was no longer in warranty and we did all the software updates/checks/resets, to no avail. We brought the thing to the local electronics repair centre that had Hisense affiliation and they couldn't replicate the issue. However, the chap said, whether or not they could replicate it, the mainboard for that model was no longer available for purchase. We brought it home and it was working for another day until the issue cropped up again. So now I'm stuck with a TV with great features and great display, but it is no longer reliable and we have no way of fixing it.
The family discussion was weighing TCL/Hisense 3 year in-home warranty vs the bigger name's single year. On the other end of the equation was our 9 year old Bravia that was still going strong and all our other previous TVs that lasted longer than 6 years and all eventually got sold off or given away in working condition.
I realise stuff made today (by any manufacturer) just isn't the same as it was from before, but the weight of prior experience, both in the early failure of my existing device as well the longevity of my other devices served to sway the decision making.
That being said, since the TV's primary duty cycle with be hooked up to a PS5, I'm aware of how attractive the TCL is from a price/performance standpoint!
Way too power hungry at 726kWh at Energy Rating, just 3 stars for this model TCL - 65c835….
This is the common problem for all the mini-led TVs I think.
I've got the 75" C835, which only gets 2 star rating. According to your linked page it consumes 1100+ kw that's if you're watching for 10hrs a day, which is not the case for most people… In average I watch less than 4 hrs a day so really it's not that bad in my case.
Compared with Samsung's QN90B, which gets 3 stars for it's 75" model and consumes 740kw a year (I doubt if that's correct though as all it's 55, 65, 75 models were showing the same power consumption), cheaper to run but you pay extra for the brand. If you also consider the purchasing cost, C835 might still be cheaper to own.
SAMSUNG QN90B
Model | ESR | kWh | |
---|---|---|---|
qa55qn90baw | 2.5 | 594 | |
qa65qn90baw | 2.5 | 744 | |
qa75qn90baw | 3.5 | 777 |
ESR - energy star rating.
Not considering all the model variants, fwiw; there could be "generational" differences for different sizes and/or other variations.
Of course there is the whole consideration of the TCO (total cost of ownership), but the ESR and kWh at least gives you a reasonable reference; the site only works for currently available models though, at least in theory. I would prefer history to compare replacing an old TV with a newer one as part of the buy consideration.
Need this in 75"
I have this 65C835 and doesn't need the soundbar, sound still very good without the soundbar.
Im looking at the tcl, everyone wants about $1600/1700 but expired deals show it has sold for under $1300 just 2 months ago.
Anyone somewhat aware of TGG and JB sales history and how likely this price to happen again within the next few months?
Looking into it for my mum who bought a new apartment, she's not tv mad but she also doesn't have one at all, she's moving in this week, should I wait or should I buy it now and pay the premium?
Id wait until around march
Has anyone been able to achieve the advertised 144hz on this TV? I got an RTX3080 10GB and I could only manage to go up to 120hz. 144hz just doesn't show up as an option. And when I add custom resolution through the NV control panel, it just goes to a black screen.
I'm connected to HDMI, tried several different combination of resolution/colour depth, no luck.
Have you confirmed your HDMI cable can get 144hz on another device?
You would need a HDMI 2.1 cable for 4k @ 144hz.
No, I do not have another 4k 144hz TV or monitor.
I was able to do 10bit 4:4:4 HDR 120hz @ 3840 x 2160 on C835 though, that shouldn't be possible at HDMI 2.0, so it should be HDMI2.1
Is there other ways to find out?
I have the 75" C835 with the Samsung slim sound bar. Even though we used it without a sound bar for quite some time, the Samsung slim sound bar with the wireless sub was well worth the $500. I've done testing between the two back to back and of course an external sound system is preferred over the stock TV sound.
I'd suggest if you can, grab a sound bar..
