You mean, there is a chance of reviewing the prices by Apple?
If anyone is a student, apples gonna do the yearly promotion soon which is 10% off + something else
As a student of life, looking forward to it.
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict back to school sales won't go ahead this year in the southern hemisphere.
Whether it is due to a lack of stock (probable), or Apple testing the waters in smaller markets to see whether there is a marked drop off in sales/profits from not offering the usual deal.
They usually start the first week of the new year, so the fact they haven't eventuated by now leaves me little hope.
I just called apple 133622, they confirmed the back to school event is expected to happen soon (within the next week or so).
New product announcement coming tomorrow.
Likely the new MBP 14 and 16"
yay
Any info on this? I was planning on buying one today haha
I was going to settle for the 2021 model this month because I heard the new ones wont be mid year. but hopefully we are in luck!
@colt75: I’d go with a 2021 14’ base model if the price is right and I believe there have been significant discounts around. I own the 16’ and can see myself with it for another 3 years.
@Icecold5000: I am looking to upsec mine, so there really is no discount applicable.
@colt75: I’d try and get one through the AOC Apple portal. I got mine there and it was from memory a 8% discount. Depending on how long you want to wait there might be a coles Apple Card discount as well. Not exactly sure how it works.
@Icecold5000: Thats my plan.
I've already got $4200 in gift cards ready to go haha!
I am ready just need the new mbp to drop
Thank you!
If you are looking to buy 13" pro, it has a version that comes with M2 chip.
Still sticking with ugly notch?
Expect a big price rise on the new one, due to the A$ being not as strong to the US$ compared with when the M1 versions came out. Apple generally locks in prices based on the exchange rate on release, except where there is a marked deterioration of a currency against the US$ and they change prices to maintain their 40% gross profit margin. It has happened in Australia before, happened in Japan last year, and in other countries with basket-case currencies.
How can you check its not refurbished?
The box should be sealed and it should smell like a new computer?
White box. Refurbs come in brown cardboard packaging.
It'll last until tomorrow, because there is an expected announcement coming via Apple Newsroom.
