Saw this at my local bunnings, OK discount I suppose? Never use it myself personally but I think it looks good charcoal size.
Might be useful if your stock is about to finish.

Quite like this charcoal, but it used to be about $40-$45 not all that long ago.
Great charcoal, I grabbed 5 or 6 bags when it was $53 before the big hike… Still got gouged compared to a year earlier though
Is this far better than $17 / 7 kg one?
I stick with the jumbuck lump, no complaints here for $17 for 7kg
I used these for the first time because my local wood supplier ran out of stock. Surprisingly good sized pieces and much better than the matador rubbish
weber briquettes $20 for 10kg seems to be the best value for money for the masterbuilt
I really don't like briquettes, found I have to light them 3-4 times before they start properly smouldering enough to keep going.
Get yourself a chimney starter and Samba Natural Firefighters. Gets them going real well
The Coconut Shell briquettes (blue bag) burn hotter and for longer too
And an airblower. Takes about 5 minutes to get good grey
On a masterbuilt?
masterbuilt 800 google it
@bob98: No I was asking them if they’re having trouble lighting briquettes on a Masterbuilt or in general. I was gonna tell him he should try shaking the grate at the bottom before lighting it because the briquettes can sometimes fall in a way that leaves a gap above where the fire starter goes
I’ve got a 560 myself
Depends and what and how you're cooking.
On a charcoal grill I prefer Coconut Shell briquettes with a few pieces of lump hardwood for a bit of flavour
Use it. Like it.
Rip the bag and ask for a discount jokes
But I always go past that aisle and see if there's any ripped, then ask if they'd consider marking down. Usually 50% off but sometimes 25%
7.5kg bag is also around $20 at Bunnings.
isn't this coconut shell better?
Nope, cheaper quality and more expensive.

Been buying charcoal from this guy for the last 6 or so years. He has Redgum for grilling/spit which leaves ZERO ash behind and Iron bark for low and slow.
His prices have always been competitive if not the cheapest, just sucks I have to drive an hour across the city for it.
I will have start making charcoal……
I switched to the Pro Smoke lump from BBQs Galore out of spite when Bunnings gouged the price.

Great, now it's only $20 more expensive than this time last year. Bunnings gouging us BBQ folk is not good.
