They've certainly fallen a long way.

    • Thank God their mtb shoes are still good.

Good price, although would not recommend buying climbing shoes online since fit has a big impact, normally people get 1-2 sizes down from their normal shoe size, too small and it hurts to climb/walk (if the shoes even fit in the first place) and too big and you lose a lot of control/power. Good non-aggressive design for bouldering though since it looks like you could walk around in these with minimal discomfort.

  • They look rad.

Auto correct is such a pain

Just a heads up, these will dye your feet red

    Eshay lad.

  • It would be good if they could ad more weird names to the shoes.

  • That's an interesting shoe design…

Climbing shoes usually have this type of shape to them so feet/shoes as close to flush to the wall and the end pointy to aid in wedging your shoes in crevices etc

I didn't realise Adidas purchased 5.10. Apparently it happened in 2011. The things you learn…

  • Do you wear socks or bare feet with these

    • +1

      Bare feet

    • You can. Just need to be thin.

You will get people that say they loose sensitivity when they wear socks.. i call BS, especially when its less than 0.3mm thick.

The hiangle pro is also on sale for $165.00 (down from $300.00) if you're looking for a more technical/aggressive shoe
Would've been tempting if they had it in my size

    • Have you tried the new 5.10s?

I was in hiangles for a while (from the OG smurf feet version) and I've still got a set of the old, pre-adidas synthetics as a spare shoe.
Always liked them as they weren't too assymetrical (long second toe), they were comfy, and the rubber was lovely.

I've tried on a pair of the new ones and they are definitely not the same last. Never bought them but the feedback on quality is pretty dire too.
I couldn't get on with the fit of the Unparallel shoes either, but a mate went with them and they at least seemed to have lasted fine.

I've got Scarpa Instincts now and am much happier, heel fit for me is shitloads better and the toe/forefoot is fine. Don't see them on sale much but both of my pairs have been resoled once and look like they should at least hold up to one more.

TL;DR: if you had the original hiangles and are looking at the new ones as a replacement, definitely try them on first - they're a totally different shoe now.

  • How to these shoes go with outdoor sport climbing?

Fine for lower grades, nothing too steep.
