Cinnabon has officially opened in Sydney. What’s the hype about and has anyone tried it? The article below caught my attention. Apparently long ques in Haymarket.

was there yesterday at lunch time,
queues was at least 50-60 strong, didn't bother..
same today looks to be a minimum 1 hour wait.
Cinnabon
We had it in brisbane for years.
Was decent 1st time I tried it..haven't gone back. Kinda thought overhyped :(
In Victoria, there's still only one Cinnabon store - it opened in Southland Shopping Centre in March 2021. During the first few months, there would be massive lines and they quickly adopted an online reservation system where you could pre-order and pickup on the day.
After a couple of months, unsurprising, the interest dropped off a cliff. Since then, there are no lines at all.
Beat the hype and just wait a few months.
Didn't know there's still one in VIC!
IMO the best cinnamon scrolls are from Saint Cinnamon, shame we don't have the franchise here!
I didn't get time, I was in the Aldi line buying energy drinks
Apparently long ques in Haymarket.
Come back when the hype has gone and it will be tumbleweeds.
All over SE Asia decades ago, never seen a queue for it lol. It's alright but there will be locals that do it better. Not sure on Aus pricing
I can get a cinnabon from my local bakery. Was no line there today…
If it ain't in cinnatown, it ain't cinnabon.
Seriously people. It's not even a rated food (like In & Out) in the US. Who says to you ohhh you have to have Cinnabon when you go to the US? No one.
Hype, bandwagons and queues, 3 things I strongly dislike and keep away from.
But those pictures of the rolls admittedly look quite delicious so I'll have to remember to give 'em a try some time.
How much is for one Cinnabon Classic roll?
Likely between $4 and $7. I want to say $6.80 for some reason.
Ok. Thanks
I’ve had it in Victoria, it was quite average. Very doughy, not enough cinnamon.
Supposedly the Cinnabons overseas are better.
Definitely way better in the US as far as I am concerned. However, I have not been to America for any years, so it could have changed. Used to visit a friend in St Louis regularly once upon a time. He always had a box of Cinnabon buns waiting for me!
I had one from the Southland store and I won't be having another. It was very expensive, and awful.
The thing about these sorts of product is that they often don't translate very well in different countries, due to differences in ingredients. It is one of the reasons why we cannot buy a decent French baguette here in Oz that tastes anything like the ones you buy in Paris. Again they have different flours and yeasts. It was something I never knew till it was explained to me. But maybe also because you don't buy one that has sat on the shelf all day. In Paris, the bakeries make them continuously all day, so you buy it hot out of the oven.
There is a reason why Cinnabon buns are so good, they are full of sugar. It's the American way :-)
Does Gene Takavic still work there?
Yeah, I thought it was fictional. Never saw one in the US, but then I didn't hang about in shopping mall food courts. Don't want to end up looking like a middle-aged American.
I have quite a fond memory of trying a Cinnabon in LA. Is my life sad? Possibly, but would be better with Cinnabons.
wasn't it open last week?
absolutely amazing, i miss those buns. I haven't been there yet, but will be there early saturday.
I recall visiting one in Melbourne about 20 something years ago in Werribee or Hopper's or somewhere around there.
Maybe I'm wrong.
Louis CK eats them, and he claimed and owned his public masterbation, so they must be good !
Love the buns (at least when I was in the US)
