While other subscriptions can't be shared with an overseas account, iCloud+ can be shared with an overseas account via Family sharing.

Apple one is not available in Türkiye, next cheapest / easy to obtain option is via India

How to get access:

Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid number or risk losing your ID). Choose country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this link to enter a Turkish address to your Turkish Apple ID, select payment method as none and save.

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID

  • Buy TL iTunes gift cards (Make sure you only buy Turkish ones, only comes in 25 TRY and 50 TRY denominations) from TurGame > Choose currency as TL/TRY and pay with international transaction fee free card.

  • Redeem iTunes gift cards by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code.

  • Sign up to iCloud+ via settings or by clicking on this link from an Apple device.

  • While logged in using Turkey ID start Family Sharing group and invite your AU account. Make sure you add iCloud+ to sharing with family.

  • Logout from Turkey Apple ID and login back with AU Apple ID.

  • Accept Family sharing request and enjoy iCloud+

        How did you manage to up and running? I have MacOS 10.15.7 Catalina and asks for the "Add a payment method to enable Family Sharing".
        I have got 2tb cloud storage in my Turky account but cannot enable family sharing.

          From memory I enabled sharing of iCloud from the phone.

          I got stuck asking for payment when I was trying to sign up front the subscription, not when trying to share it.

          Pretty shit reason to neg just because you're running into troubles and you're still mid trouble shooting.

            I followed all the steps.
            I bought apple gift card from Turkish and added to my newly created Turkish account.
            Bought the subscription of 2tb iCloud storage per month. Subscription started.
            I cannot family share it as it asks for the payment method and doesn't accept any card from Australia. It doesn't accept wise or revolt card. I tried all the ways shown by different members. Nothing works. Wasted time and $16 AUD.

    Is anyone having issues with buying new turkish iCloud credits? When I attempt to buy, it's coming up in EUR. If I turn on a Turkish VPN, It says that it is unable to process the transaction while I'm on a VPN. Any help would be much appreciated :)

      Ok, did it on the Mac with another user profile and a second Yahoo email address. If your address is [email protected] you can use [email protected] and the email will go to the first email address, so you can use the second as the Apple ID.

      Question is once you change the iCloud to use the Family shared storage from the Turkish Apple ID can you safely turn off the iCloud subscription to the original Apple ID (and not lose data)?

          I’m assuming you’ve already successfully signed up for the TR iCloud sub? If so, send the invite via iMessage and accept it that way, which should work.

    Just want to add this worked great! I have a mac so used the steps outlined here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13227257/redir as well which made it dead easy, I shared the family invite over airdrop. Make sure the receiving (turkey account on mac will accept airdrop from everyone if you have setup a new standard user on your mac).

    Also, I used eneba, which I found referenced a OneDrive thread which worked perfectly and instantly however was a tiny bit more exp, maybe $1.5 for the 100TRY value card compared to the straight TRY-AUD price on turgame

    Extra note that wasn't clear to me, you need a brand new email. Using [email protected] of an existing apple id didn't work.

    Final update:

    After repeating the same process 20+ times it went though. I cannot say why or how, but just be cautious that it may not work for new people. just buy a small amount of balance before trying.

      Same for me.
      I already have a TR account with family sharing set up but my membership expired so needed to top up.

      After i added the gift cards to my app store, i completely logged out of my aus icloud account on my iphone, logged into icloud with my TR account, went into storage and added the plan.

      Worked without any issues.

    I've tried from an old iPhone and also from my Mac to choose the iCloud+ level but they all present the message "before you can make purchases, you must tap continue to verify your payment information" and require either Turkish CC or mobile payment option to be chosen.

    There is no "none" option here.

      I’m also having the same issue where it requires me to verify the payment information using Turkish credit card (Aussie card doesn’t work) or using a Turkish mobile number.

    I have invited the TR account in mine AU Family.
    In the AU family i am the organizer with 2tb.

    My TR Account is already upgraded to iCloud+ 2TB also.

    Now is the Question, how do i share the TR iCloud+ with the Other Fam in AU Account?

    Do i need first to Downgrade mine AU iCloud+?
    I have an child in my AU Fam Group. So i can’t stop Sharing Family. I need to transfer the child first to an another family and then i can stop sharing AU account.

    The only option i see, when logged in TR Account, that i can accept iCloud+ from AU account.
    But that is not what i want, i want to Share the TR iCloud+ with the others..

    How do i do that?

      Unfortunately it did work for me, but other way around.

      Added the TR account to my AU account, but there was no option to use TR iCloud+ for family.
      As Organiser AU i stopped using family sharing, but the option at TR Account to share iCloud+ was not working.

      So for my only option was, To Create New Fam at TR Account as Organiser and then add AU Fam to TR account.
      When i added the (old) Organiser AU account to TR, then apple Asked me, you have Already iCloud+, do you want to use iCloud+ of TR account. I accepted that and AU iCloud+ was ended immediate and got money back.

      So that was for me the only option!

      Paying now 65TL for 1 month iCloud+ 2TB.

      Purchase Sharing is NOT working, because it asks every time: “Payment Method Required”.
      They want an CreditCard or Mobile TR payment.

        I think I finally got it worked out.

        Please correct me if I am wrong, the concept of all this is to create a TU ID and invite all the members into the TU ID family sharing subscription. The disadvantage of this is remove 1 spot (which is the organizer).

        However, today I find out that my iCloud+ to sharing with family function got disabled after few hours. And I have to log back in to my TU ID to enable that function, otherwise all the invited members only got the shared storage but not all the iCloud+ functions like other members mentioned.

        Can you advise why we having this issue?

    I had this working initially when i setup after following the instructions by OP.

    I created Turkish ID, added funds and created a family sharing and invited AU accounts as members.

    I initially had 50 lira loaded which was enough for 2 months of 200GB but after 2 months my accounts got downgraded as the funds weren't enough for the 3rd payment. I logged in again on turkish account, topped it up and re purchased 200GB iCloud+ plan. However, I can no longer share purchases and keep getting promted to add a card/payment method to my turkish account.

    I even tried removing my AU memebers from Turkish account, close family sharing from Turkish account.

    Setup new family sharing with AU account and invite turkish account- but this resulted in region error.

    Has anyone had same issue and been able to fix it ?

        Solved it! You have to go a further step to cancel family sharing before being able to re add the emails
        Settings>Apple ID>family sharing>cancel family sharing

    Did anybody recently go through this process and still got it to work?
    I followed the steps - created new account (Turkey), Turkish address (AU mobile and verified), selected payment method as none via website.
    Logging out from "Media and Purchases " was not sufficient to be able to add TRY to account, so logged out entirely and then logged in with TR account only.
    25 TRY is applied to the account, I downloaded a free app from app store (a few apps actually).

    But each time I try to subscribe to iCloud+ I keep getting the popup to Verification Required then asking CC or Turkish mobile.
    Any help is appreciated, also looked here but still didn't get this to work.

      Ok, confirmed it still works.
      Not sure why, but I went through the same steps a few time:
      - setting payment method to none via Op's link (didn't change anything there, just space/backspace and update again)
      - trying icloud+ again
      Somehow after a few more tries it worked.

      Ran into some sharing issue because AU account had iCloud 50GB sub still enabled, and when I tried to invite that account via TR iCloud+ was shared, but still showing only 50GB on AU account.
      By sharing it again via TR accout, I got a pop-up on AU account that I could opt for the shared sub, now it's showing as 200GB.
      So ended up working after all.

      Btw: bought gift card via bitrefill which was instant.

    I don’t mind the price increase, but when I created and logged in with the Turkey iCloud account, clicking the signup to iCloud+ link would still get me to pay in AU plan. Does anyone know a way to fix this please?

    Weird but True.

    Also received an email where was stated 129,99 TL from 1st of July.

    But got my July Invoice today and they Credited only 64,99TL NOT 129,99 like stated in Email.

    So i’ll see it.

    Yes unfortunately TRY price has jumped up

    • 200GB = 39.99TRY ~ $2.29 /mth
    • 2TB = 129.99TRY ~7.46 /mth

    I got 100TRY gift card from Turgame

    Thanks OP, I did the following without impacting the current family group on icloud

    create a standard user on my Mac and sign in with turkey Apple ID
    send family invitation from OZ family group to turkey ID
    accept the invitation on Mac
    stop sharing icloud+ on OZ primary member
    subscribe the 2T icloud on Mac and share with the family
    “

    So i did similar except:-
    I used an old iPhone SE (cracked screen)
    Logged in as the TRY account on iPhone SE (try-phone)

    On my existing AU account (iPhone 12/iPad/Mac),
    Cancel the iCloud+ family sharing (but kept it active 200GB on my account)
    invite the new TRYphone account into family share
    I sent invite via iMessage
    On TRYphone, purchase a 200GB iCloud+ family
    Share that with existing family

    So now i have 400GB, of which 200GB is TRYphone shared and 200GB is mine (AU) on my account.

    Once i upgrade my TRY funds, i will upgrade to the 2TB… (or perhaps better to keep AU for tax write off?)

      thank you, this helped me! not that inviting the TRY account via iMessage is important! I found out the hard way that airdrop/in person method does not work (gives the "Invalid Store Account - Family members must use accounts in the same country or region…")

      so the important bits, to re-iterate for anyone else:

      invite the new TRYphone account into family share
      I sent invite via iMessage
