I'm confused lol?
have you done any research or are you just posting here cause you're lazy
I have done research but I'm curious as to what ozbargainers think.
@mu11yy: I think $200 for a webcam in 2022 is ridiculous. Especially when just for classes.
Unless you are harbouring fantasies of being the new Youtube sensation, a $30 Logitech is more than enough.
Do you really need the whole class to see your nostril hairs in 4K HDR?

How much do you charge when you are not free ?
A $200 camera for remote uni will cost less then a month of on campus parking.
I use a Logitech C925e and got it from umart. Comes on sale often enough. Great for Zoomies, lectures etc. Kid uses it for streaming while gaming.
Don't bother, students never switch on their webcams anyway. Unless you are planning on starting an OnlyFans.
(Ex-uni lecturer)
Uni lecturer for my first unit specifically requested it in a email lol. But that will probably be the case.
Look for used Logitech C920 series webcams on FB marketplace and gumtree.
Where were you over a week ago ?

Apparently there is an inbuilt feature in iOS to use your iphone as a webcam.
Alternatively, you can also use a static picture in zoom.
I have the Logitech C922 Pro Stream that I use for uni lectures. I have used it to record videos for some of my assignments. I also have used it for streaming but I have since stopped streaming.

Been using mine for a while and it's solid. Has Windows Hello capability, which is awesome. No more typing passwords.
If you don't mind waiting for a sale you can grab a logitech streamcam for about $100 - $120. I got one for uni, don't use it in lectures but I do use it in workshops, one on one meetings with tutors, help sessions and for recording presentations. I've found it pretty good for the sale price.
Just in case you've got a DSLR or mirrorless camera, you might be able to use it as a webcam either directly via USB or through a USB capture card (like Elgato HD60s, as long as it supports UVC) - superb quality (not surprising) and you may get to use the microphone on the camera, too.
I was using this setup since pandemic and it's been solid.
and students can't afford what now?
