Poor cam. Do not recommend.
Grainy quality and poor light exposure control.
Quality is similar to a cheap $10 cam off AliExpress and not even comparable to the selfie cam on your phone or MacBook.
I used it mostly for meetings but have a bright room. I usually appear as a shadow in this camera and have gone back to using my macbooks cam.
Weird, I've had the opposite experience and find it works very well.
Apple people tend to hate on anything that isn't Apple. Likely an exposure setting issue.
Didn’t read it as an endorsement of the basic camera built into a MacBook. Just they didn’t find the 922 matching even the mac’s crappy camera.
Which as you say, probably a setting issue on the 922.
I would say though, that the MBP while not as great as a dedicated camera, is a decent built in camera for a laptop, even though it results in a notch on the screen. Think of it a bit like democracy: sure it sucks, just a better system than the rest.
I don't know if it's as bad as you say it is - sure it's not 4K/60FPS, but most streaming services wouldn't support that anyway.
I have one myself, as it's pretty good - not $200 good, but it's $89 dollar good.
I have the same one, and it is very clear, and exceptionally high quality.
It works well for me.

No screen, but you might be able to watch them through the reflection of the lens
It would depend of the type of video you're shooting - some people use their mobile phones for youtube, others have $25000 professional setups.
Sure, but, can an average YouTube pervert notice difference on their own crappy setup?
I use the C920. Defaut settings don't work too well but when combined with Logitech G Hub where you can adjust bright/contrast on the fly it works well and can use without any additional lighting.
Only issue is you need to always have the app open and sometimes reapply the settings on each teams meeting when enabling camera.
how is this compared to Razer Kiyo X?

Googled it. Razer Kiyo has much better sharpness, but much worse colour reproduction.
Word of warning: This works terribly for Discord video calls, the quality is abysmal and settings through Logitech tuning programs are either applied poorly or not at all. This issue affects the C922 only afaik, not the C920. Discord is aware that this is an issue and has not fixed it in over a year, and when asked about it on the support forums, they don't care. Please feel free to research and do your due diligence if you're planning on getting this webcam for Discord video calls.
Yeah this issue is really irritating and I'd honestly recommend the C920 over the C922 because of this.
