    • It’s not modular

        It's semi modular.
So it's at least a semi good deal.

So does "Semi Modular" mean that all the mandatory cables are attached (e.g. motherboard) and the extras are modular (HDD, SDD, graphics card)? That would be awesome and pretty much the same???

    • Yep, i bought this instead

    • This is a better quality PSU than the EVGA according to the PSU tier list. You can't just look at the Gold rating because it means very little.

    • I purchased this exact unit from BPC and it arrived Monday 09/01.
It arrived faulty. The internal fan was slightly off axis and as soon as I turned it on, the fan was hitting the exhaust cover making a terrible noise until turned off.
I contacted BPC to organise return etc and it seems they want me to register with EVGA first before I can do anything.

They asked that I go to the EVGA site and raise a ticket: https://www.bpctech.com.au/evga-rma-claim

and then forward them the ticket number when complete.

I'm hoping this is a mistake on their part as I am within the 3 month return back to base policy: https://www.bpctech.com.au/returns

I have queried this and am currently waiting for a repsonse. Really hope this isn't the start of some months long RMA drama that BPC will put me through…

I wish sfx psu are this price

  • anyone have a link or can explain the difference between modular and non modular power supplies? And why you would want to get a modular one?

    • +2

Modular means you can disconnect the cables from the PSU so less clutter in your case. It also means you can replace the cables if you want longer/shorter/prettier ones.

So if you only have one HDD/SSD using a PSU cable you'd only plug one in and not have a bunch of MOLEX/SATA power cables hanging around not plugged in.
