Browsing around for flights when I encountered this. Various dates available in August 2023 for around $2,000 - $2,500. Other airlines seem to be double the price. Hopefully someone can take advantage of this!

Most flights has that written on it. I mean for all we know, Japan could suddenly decide they don't like Australians and they'll only allow one flight in a day.
Cathay overnight late December lost all their flight slots that aren't to osaka, chubu, haneda and narita because the Japanese government wants to curb Chinese tourists and the covid situation there. (No Sapporo, Fukuoka etc)
Quasi premium economy at 2k return, not too bad I guess. Typical business class SYD-HND costs around 4k for a full-service airline.
Seats will be equiv to prem economy , I booked for $2300 which is OK , I just like the leg room.
Note that Tokyo in Aug is ultra HUMID HOT I mean it's really draining HOT, hotter that Singapore at its worst. If you go in Aug, think of a domestic flight up north (which is fantastic BTW) Walking around in Aug Tokyo daytime will drain your energy and you will want to retreat, best to plan to get out after the sun sets. Recommend mid to end of Sep , I booked Oct returning Dec.
I also booked for start of October for a week in and out on a Friday for $2300, I noticed that the $1150 one way is for 1 seat per flight, as soon as I booked the price went to $1750 each way . I’m a big guy I only fly PE or business, and doing this flight from Sydney via Cairns, I get full gold renewal in one trip including the 4 VA legs
