For those who missed out on the last deal and don't mind paying a little bit extra is a good deal on this budget dashcam for under A$30. Mine from the last deal hasn't arrived yet, however based on this video the day/night footage looks to be quite good for the price.

Good find. Seems you can make an offer and potentially get it even cheaper.

    • +1

Good pickup but do not see it mention if ebay one comes with sd card. AE comes with 64gb for the price

      • Let see i have ordered one. At least it comes in few days instead of weeks.

        • +3

Also ebay listing says with with lipo battery, not capacitor

          • +1

@SAU: Interesting. Model is same so cannot be different. I read on another page

"AZDOME M300 Car Dash Cam - Your Car Companion:

M300 It is built in Super Capacitor (Only has 1 mAh Lithium Metal Battery used to memory time), Please always connect Dash Cam to external power while it is in use. Hardwire Kit can protect your device from time reset problem / prompt low battery problem / auto shutdown problem when the car is turned off,Use it to realize 24h parking monitoring。"

            • @dealhunting007: Can't see anything on the AliExpress ad that mentions this model (M300) uses a capacitator.

OP may have made an assumption based on the specs page on the AliExpress ad where it says the unit does not have a battery (under the heading "battery life").

              • @resubaehtgnolhcs: Or perhaps OP looked at review videos where it specifically says it uses a capacitor, the same as the other listing in the last deal.

And just to be sure I checked the manual

            • @dealhunting007: You're correct. Straight from the manual

            • @dealhunting007: so this won't work without ignition power on?

that makes it not useful for monitoring/recording when you are parked.

              • @pinkybrain: Hence why hardwire kits exist. Much better than battery.

                • -2

@Clear: that cost AU $155.53 or more so no cheap
and is also not available as well.

Is the hardwire kit just wired directly to the car battery and does it drain much battery?

is there any brands selling that does record while park and much cheaper price?

how these compare the popular 70mai and xiaomi dashcam and does it record while park or need to buy a kit too?

                  • +6

@pinkybrain: Let me just Google all of these questions for you.

                  • @pinkybrain: All Dash Cam requires you to do Hardwiring to your car battery with hardwire kit for parking recording. I dont think there is an exception.

                    • -2

@HungFan: does it use much battery while connect?

this hardwire kit on this deal looks overpriced for just power supply + wire to attach to the battery

                    • -1

@HungFan: Of course there is, ODB port power adapter.

          • @SAU: Where? I can't see it

      • +5

Ali one does not come with SD card for au$30

        That costs more

      • +3

        ebay listing: TF Card: (NOT INCLUDED)Max support 64GB (Class10 or above);

        • In picture shows a 32gb one so could be grounds for a partial refund.

    • +1

Thanks mate. Paid 23.99 with monthly $5 eBay coupon.

      • Same here. Finally a use for the $5 coupons.

        • Which coupon did you use? PLUS5C is not working for me.

          • @expertreader: log in to your ebay account on a desktop to get your monthly 5 off 15 code

      • Thought there’s. Minimum $50 spend to use the $5. Mine is like that.

        • My dashboard has 2 different coupons:

          1. AU $5.00 off any Plus items.
          2. eBay Plus members get AU $5.00 off* every month on purchases of AU $15 or more. *Excls & T&Cs apply.

First one is only for eBay Plus items and has minimum spend conditions. I used the second one. Cheers

          • @dealhunter52: Thanks. I had two coupons last month, but this month I only got one which is the $50. Might have to enquire eBay about it.

            • @j1568: Check your eBay messages, it's the one that says "Your_Name, something for you"

Most likely you received it last month

              • @TEER3X: Thanks. I checked and the only message I got is the current $5 off $50. I just joined eBay plus with the $4.99 annual fee promo in November. I did get the two coupons when I joined, but only the one for December.

                • @j1568: You'll get another coupon 30/31 days after your join date.

Can you set the date/time of this thing from the app/automatically sync to your phone time? I have another cam and I'm sick of having to manually set it on the unit when the internal clock resets.

    • +1

Managed to find this out. According to the manual "Once it is connected to the AZDOMEAPP it will automatically update the date/time."

    • +1

Also looks like you can change the WiFi password in the app to stop people connecting and viewing your videos. Can be reset by holding down a button on the unit. Seems like a decent cam.

  • Are you sure the m300 has a capacitor?

    • 110% sure. The last deal advertised it on the other listing and the review videos all mention it.

      • On Ebay site detail says : 200mAh Lithium Polymer for M300.

        • The last deal advertised it on the other listing and the review videos all mention it.

          Plus it's in the manual

      • The eBay link also states only 1080p but has the same M300 model number.

        • +1

read more, it says 1296p in the description

$25.91 paid with the 64g card… so it says! We will see when delivered

    • thanks i got 31$ instead but come with 64gb. canceled ebay and got this instead.

    • $25.91 paid

      How?

      • New user discount probably.

    • Mine is saying AU $56.66.
      Did you enter a code?

  • Any way to get this connected to a suction cup instead of directly on the glass?

  • -4

I was onboard until I saw micro-usb. Gross.

    • +1

      Yeah it's XLR or nothing.

    • +11

Usb C snobs are hilarious. Especially for something you might only unplug less than 10 times in its lifetime

    • that why i have micro-usb to usbc adaptor, cost almost nothing, and just for this use case.
the product would have been up saled for 50$ if it had usb c port.

    • -1

A lot of these kinds of cams aren't actually USB, they just use the connector for a proprietary cable. And a normal USB cable won't work.

  • the code is gone now

  • Thanks OP, got 2 off eBay store for $27.54 each.

    • I made an offer of $25 each and it was accepted :).

      • Mine wasn't. Declined for $26 and $27 too ffs

        • I was surprised he accepted as well.

  • Featuring video resolution up to 1296p

Chinese P's.. or real ones? Be top shelf quality for 28 bux.

Itd be like one of those "have you seen this man" images on the news, and it could be a pixelated martian.

    • Doesn't cost much to have 2340x1080resolution. It's not 2010.

  • How do these compare to the Viofo?

    • hot garbage. but its 30 bucks and not 200$.

      • +1

Makes sense. I've got the Viofo, nothing has come close to it in quality or value. What's the point of having a piece of hot garbage when you can't rely on it when something does happen?

        • +1

because cheapskate ozbargain like us willing to bet that a 30 bucks might just be able to do the job of 200$ bucks.

          • -2

@HungFan: This cheapskate OzBargainer uses a a 70mai A800S 4K at the front and will be using this for the rear ;)

            • @Clear: How about just 2 of these for both front and rear?

            • @Clear: Haha wow what a bunch of sooky neggers. There's no reason for that.

            • @Clear: The 70mai A800S is only marginally cheaper than the A129 Pro. It seems to use a newer Sony image processor (from the naming series). Sony IMX415 (70mai) v Sony IMX317 Exmor R (A129 pro)

              • @techlead: Price of it now isn't as good as it was back at release. You could get it with a rear dashcam and hardware wiring kit for about $100. Really good quality but I haven't used it against a Viofo.

                • @Clear: Wow, that's a steal with those specs.

I'm very happy with the Viofo A129 Pro duo

    • -2

      How much is the Viofo?

      Any Deal Link

      • The Viofo A129 Pro Duo is over $300 at the moment. That comes with two camera, 4k front and 1080p back.

  • Would one of those 2.5mm cameras work if I plug it into the AV port on the camera to use as a rear cam? Seems that their other models use that AV port for a rear cam

  • +1

So what hardwire kit is everyone buying?

I know this is the offical Azdome kit:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/195505788506

    $25.99

    • hmm nice! Wonder if there are any generic cheap ones?

      • +1

I believe you can use any. Something like this below, which is a little cheaper.
It has 12V-11.6V(Cut Off Automatically) so it will shut off with enough power to start the car still. Also comes with multiple different fuses taps for different car fuses which makes it very easy to install.
Dash Cam Hard Wire Fuse Box Car Recorder Hardwire Kit

        • +1

No constant yellow wire though, so it would be red to constant and black to ground in this case and when voltage hits then cuts off.

          • @Rakddon: Any difference not having a yellow and only red though?

I like how the generic one you can change the USB end. But then you get the bulky part near the dashcam itself.

  • This alternative on ebay I bought to replace my crapped out pos viofo.
$10 off coupon took it down to $40 delivered.
I'll let you know how it goes.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/193044605390?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

  • +1

I bought this and realised I really don't need it… I have two Viofo A119v3 that I've been lazy to install!
So if anyone wants to take over my order… let me know, I'm in Melbourne for an easy meet up.

  • can some one suggest is this any better ?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/195473249783?epid=12040158610&ha…

    • it's better image quality

      • Has built-in GPS too. But no capacitor.

  • Just received mine (purchased via eBay)
    - no MicroSD card (expected this since it says 64GB (not included in listing description), even though listing photo shows 32GB).

    • Does it have GPS?
Looks like they removed the photo with the sd card

      • They did but here's an image:

        https://imgur.com/a/Xsq9YZh

        • Did you try and contact the seller?
If so did they deny having that image?

          • +1

@jayboi: Nah, in the description it does say not included which I didn’t notice until reading the comments here.

            Won’t be contacting seller.

            • @Rakddon: Fair enough, if it doesn’t have gps then I might as well contact seller. Upon looking at video reviews it seems this needs something seperate attached to have gps. Not sure if this differs

              • @jayboi: No gps, if you wanted gps then it’s a different bundle.

  • Got mine today and installed it for my partner. Build seems pretty good but it seems like the camera is sightly favouring the left side? I had to move the camera to the right side of the mirror but the footage shows more of the left side instead of the right. Is that normal?

  • Anyone found any good hardwire kits for cheap?

  • good price
