I have this mouse and am still using it after several years.

It is kinda rage-proof as I have banged on the mouse more than I can count over the years.

You need to cut the wire

  • Not wireless sorry, it's cable

I have this mouse and quite frankly the middle mouse scroll button (pressing down) is horrible and it doesn't register the press.
It takes quite abit of force to click when it should need to be.

I thought this was isolated to the first mouse I bought and then I bought a 2nd one both have the same issue.

The weights are good (which is partially the reason) I still use this but middle mouse button (pressing) I think is a defect with this line.
    Everything else works as expected.

    • Not sure what's going on with mouse wheels recently. My Razor scroll started glitching, scrolling on one direction would randomly scroll in another direction. The same problem occurred with my partners Razor mouse.

I got a mouse for my laptop, the Logitech Anywhere 2s and it turns out pressing the scroll wheel doesn't activate mouse button 3, mouse button 3 is a separate awkwardly placed button. I then picked up the Logitech MX Master 3 as it was advertising some advanced magnetic scrolling feature but in practice it never worked right. You never knew if one scroll 'click' would scroll you one line or 2.

Might spend some time researching the issue with the Razor mice and see if they can be repaired.

    • me too! same issue. i want to get another logitech mouse just as my keyboard and headphones are all logitech so i can use the one software to control them all for settings etc. are any mice from logi fault free?

I have three, great having pro backup mouses like this one.

  • Its been upgraded to G502 X

    • No weights with the new one

M6 nuts and Super glue :)

      • You get used to it, though the buttons/shape itself is slightly different as well.

        • Yeah i have all my weights in i like a heavy mouse

Don't really like it. Mine had a sensor issue, the cursor sometimes drifts randomly.
It's also too heavy to be a serious gaming mouse. I'd only look at a mouse like this if you really value the extra buttons and the infinite scroll wheel.

  • Bought this a few months back. Nothing like my old one. Not braided cord, and scroll wheel is far more rigid.

  • Got one of these during last years sales for about $50 (from UK Ebay)…

The plastic scroll wheel is horrible, especially if you have sensitive fingers. I replased mine with a rubber covered wheel from Ali for about $15 (easy to replace).

This mouse uses the G-Hub software (not the Options software) which is terrible.

If you are on a Mac you will need to install additional drivers to make it usuable (I use SteerMouse).

I bought it as a cheaper alternative to the MX, but really can't recommend this.

Would rather pick the G402 for $39

  • I have this mouse and really like it.

  • The G502 is one mouse I'd opt for wireless. It works really well from my experience.

  • How does this compare to the Proteus Core? Is it virtually 1:1 or are there differences in quality/performance? Need an option for when mine breaks.

    • Should be identical in terms of shape/weight/etc. The only real change is the slightly upgraded sensor for higher dpi.

  • Logitech warranty is absolute garbage, they always blame something, not their fault, they have never ever honored warranty in my experience.

  • Price is now $73

I used to be able to edit posts but can't see how to do it now.
