I have a pair of Clifton's (thanks to Scotty for that deal last year) which have been great so far. These Challenger's seem to have more cushioning, but for this price, probably worth getting.

Edit: OP, do you stock 2E width shoes?

I have 6 pairs of hokas that I wear on a regular basis. Wont buy any other brand..

    • +1

      Why?

      • +4

Got absolutely flat and wide feet. You could even walk in these for hours without any back, hip or knee pain.

        • Hey im super flat too but not wide at all.
So this will help with pains?

          • @CyberMurning: I have flat and narrow feet. I can confirm that they help with pain. Due to the nature of my work, I am on my feet for an extended period of time and since getting Hoka I don’t have back or leg pain. I have two pairs and plan to buy more! I have a pair of Clifton as well as Challenger ATR 6. Clifton’s have more cushioning FYI.

          • @CyberMurning: Try some on in the stores for fit and comfort if you're unsure. I tried some seconds that were used twice by someone so practically new. I instantly had no back pain, knee pain. I play a fair bit of cricket too and use these while bowling in the nets.

        • I have flat feet too. Which model Hoka's do you have?

    • Why 6 pairs?

      • +15

        They have 12 feet?

        • What do they have that 12 feet?

      • Runners need runners

  • Strictly limited sizes available from what I can see….

    • Yep. Only szs >11.5 i see in most colours.
Google search reveals other retailers selling the gt6 for 130.

      Fvck all in other words

  • Got the Gore-tex version a couple months ago, been great for trail runs. They have carved their own niche of 'hybrid' shoes, that is, shoes meant to be used regularly between paved and unpaved surfaces. Note the atr 7s have been unveiled at TRE 2022, scheduled for a launch sometime this year.

    • You don't find them too hot?

      • +1

They are definitely on the warmer end, but that's the sacrifice that comes with water resistance. Unless you think it would be handy/require it, probably stick with the normal version, much more breathable.

I returned my Challengers and got the Speedgoats instead as I felt they were better suited for trails/hikes.

This is a fantastic price though.

Does anyone know how the traction is on wet surfaces? Do these shoes slip on tiles?

    • Nope… Good grip… Better than my Adidas.

  • Anyone have recommendations on the best Hoka running shoes for path/road?

      Clifton 8

    • +2

This is ignoring any all terrain/trail shoes. Clifton 8/9 is the do-it-all suits everyone type shoe. If you really need more support/cushion (remember that Hokas are all very cushioned no matter the model) go with the Bondi 8s. (my mum uses them due to plantar fasciitis, and those shoes have single-handedly saved her from having to undergo surgery) Arahi 6 are the more stability-orientated daily trainer compared to the cliftons. The Mach 5s serve a similar purpose to the NB Rebel v2s, in that yes you could use them as a daily trainer, but they like to run at a faster threshold pace, only real downside is durability, (a common fault of Hokas) the rubber is 'infused' into the outsole foam, meaning there is next to no protection on the bottom of the shoe. That's the main hoka road lineup.

Thanks for the detail! Sounds like the Clifton is my way into Hoka shoes.

        Cheers :)

These will be a hit with the ladies

  • Unfortunately no sizes that fit me.

  • Hi there, what is the size equivalent for a Eur43 men’s?
9.5 on the site I presume?

  • +2

Gotta love the "shoe is half price, complain about color options" brigade… 😂

  • Hoka is the best, my go to are the cliftons. best walking and running shoes out there.

  • How am I supposed to know if they fit? Buying shoes online is a complete gamble

  • Hoka or Brooks which ones are better for over pronation?

  • No size 13 :((

  • As at 8.20am AEDT, there's a very small amount of color/size combinations still available - choose your side first, then try ever color option, you might get lucky - e.g. black/black 13 etc

Despite being marked out of stock there are still some available, just bought a pair 10am 2/1/23

  • Kogan is just as cheap, why not buy from Kogan?

    • These are $180 plus delivery at Kogan

      • Ahh, I was looking at the Clifton 8
