Perfect choice for WFH lazy (profanity).
    😂😂😂

    • +3

If you don't need duplex scanning that is.

      • I think you can just turn the stack upside down and start another scan. Software will make it as if scan was 2-sided.

        • +1

May as well not wfh then if you have to get off your profanity

          • +1

@Kanjus: Not sure why so many negs, I was just quoting what OP wrote in the description (now removed)

            People need to chill..

  • -4

Moderated out: second line was "Perfect choice for WFH lazy (profanity)"

  • If you require this for wfh, it’s easier to just play this through a strategically-placed Bluetooth speaker

    • If you work from home, who are you going to share the papers with ?

    • I’m playing this cuz my cat loves printer sounds 😂 LMAO

Had one of these at my work now for about 6 years.

All machines on the network detect it and install drivers no worries

All IV done is replace the toner about 5 times and it just keeps going

Granted the rolls/drum has started to get rattely

    Would buy again

  • +3

Used to have this on a group network. Fantastic machine. Super cheap compatible toners.
Reasonably compact compared to my current Brother colour mfc beast

  • +3

: No automatic 2-sided scanning. Only L2750DW and 2759 has it

    How about L2740dw?
    Edit. Looks can too

Advanced Duplex Capabilities. Two-sided printing help save paper. Plus, scans both sides of the page in a single-pass for fast, two-sided copying, scanning, faxing.

    • +1

Once you have gone "automatic 2-sided scanning"
There is no going back, as you don't have to flip the stack.

Seriously any one scanning more than 10 pages a day should not invest in this.

      • +3

Who the actual f is scanning more than 10 pages a day, then seeking a bargain basement entry level device.

    • I wonder how it scans it tho.. is it a single pass scan with a scanning element on top and bottom?

      • Single or double pass you still get the same outcome.

        • +1

I've tended to find that cheap printers, the mechanism usually breaks easily and doesn't last long.. so if it goes through once, then physically turned over and scanned again.. yeah, can't see it lasting a long time.. At least it has a top and bottom element you can place the document in the bed and it'll scan both sides..

      • +2

Got the L2750DW and yes, ADF can simultaneously scan both sides. Opening the scan flatbed gives simple access to both ADF scan heads for cleaning.

I owned a 2740dw few years back and couldn’t be happier since owned

Apart from the standard scan or copy features. The scan to email and scan to google drive are very handy for me

      Highly Recommended

  • Note: No automatic 2-sided scanning. Only L2750DW and 2759 has it

    Special feature: Auto-Duplex

    Huh?

    • +1

      Sounds like that's regarding printing

  • Does anyone have an ebay link of the compatible toner?

    • Just type the model number plus word toner.
Pick store with lots of gfeedback and from Australia (its like couple dollars more than the cheapest on the list)

  • I have used Brother MFC-L2750DW and bought toners from eBay. No issues so far.

Lightest printer in the world, I guess.

  • I have the one that duplex scans - love it, the most issue free printer I've ever owned. Takes ages to run out of toner too.

  • Stupid question… i only have company laptop and i don't think I'm allowed to install any software. Will this printer still work for me?

    • That depends if you are allowed to install printers on your laptop.
      Ask your IT people…

    • +1

Yes it will work fine with a generic usb driver built into Windows without any of the Brother software unless your IT department has specifically blocked it but I highly doubt it

    • My work laptop uses vpn and i cannot and not allowed to print from home (when im wfh).
I haven't tried connecting usb cable direct, but with wifi is 100% cannot

  • +1

Has fax support. Most useful feature.

Tempted by the 2730dw deal but after some research ended up getting the 2750dw from Officeworks with price beat. $255.55.

    • Who did you price match with?

      • +1

        BPC tech, $269 -5%

        • wow BPC charging minimum $54 shipping to NSW
Are you in VIC? How did you get OW to price match with those shipping costs?

          • @fattyboombatty: I'm in NSW, staff I spoke to was happy to pricebeat noting BPC have a physical store in Victoria.
I picked up from my local store for $255.55

    • Officeworks in ACT said they could price beat but need to add shipping costs - boo! No luck here

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a similar all-in-one with colour

  • +1

I have had one of these for years. Super reliable printer has never jammed works great from Mac, windows or phone.

We have it stored far away from the computer so being able to use you phone to control scanning is nice.

We have far more expensive machines at work and they are far less reliable and have worse software.

These little brothers are amazing, id be tempted to buy one just for when I'm in the office so I don't have to use the rubbish work printers.

I have the 2740DW…somehow I dont seem to get a lot of prints from the original toner and perhaps even less from the 3rd-party ones. I dont have the actual page count info to back this up but the toner is supposed to give 2700 pages thereabout but i think i only managed to print around 50% of that before needing to replace the toner.

How many pages do you guys managed to print from one fresh toner?

    • +1

I think their quoted toner page numbers have always been a joke..

The number of pages that can be printed with a toner cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content, such as graphics, charts, etc. It is important to remember a typical printed document is one letter-sized (8.5" x 11") page with 4% - 5% print coverage.

      https://help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/79586/~…

So by their logic it's roughly that many pages if it's a single page at a time, with only a few paragraphs on that page(4-5% of the page full of ink). Compared to say printing full pages of text you run out 2-3x faster

thanks bro. didnt see your response till today. thanks for the explanation.

  • I've owned a few MFC 27xxDW over the years. They just work! There is no need to buy expensive toner too! Cheap eBay/Amazon toner will not break these solid build machines.

    • Now I'm hoping a smaller A3 B+W laser printer to come onto the market. They are all photocopier size right now.

  • What replacement toner do you guys recommend to have a few spare?
