Unless you have supersonic hearing of course.

I recently got the arctis 3 console edition from DigiDirect and can vouch for the quality of the product and timely postage from DD. Very happy with mine based on the limited use (though, I've only been using it for MS Teams meetings).

          • @Mugsy: I paid $59 recently from amazon and they have been great. More comfortable than my Sennheiser GSP350.

The Arctis 3 also has fabric earcups which are much better than the "leather like" on the Prime.

Note from the above comparison the cable on the console edition is 1.3m rather than 3m, which I assume is the USB cable.

            • @whitlam: Yeah, the fabric earcups are much better than the faux leather ones (esp since they're washable).

My Razer Krakens aren't bad for $50 and come with USB connectivity but if 3.5mm is sufficient, then the arctis 3 is so much better on all fronts IMHO.

          • @Mugsy: I got a set from.that deal as well and honestly they are just ok. Fine for gaming but way too much bass and terrible midrange which makes voices seem muffled especially when watching movies.

They were 50 bucks so about par for that price.

            • @initiateit: Is the bass good when listening to music? I game while listening to music on same PC basically. I listen to music on current headphones I got (CloudX)
while gaming but those nice bass sounds don't come through.. it's just flat. Are these good for that?

              • @Musketeer: Doubt it, a friend recently bought the the Arctis 3's and complained about them sounding like shit with barely any bass. They are Steelseries's budget range so probably better luck spending extra on the Primes or another headset.
Btw I have the Cloud IIs and they absolutely suck for music, helped a little bit by using an equalizer though.

      • How is is compared to the Logitech G535 lightspeed? I got that for my PS5 but find it just okayish. I would consider returning that and getting this instead of it's better

    • May be a stupid question but can this be used for PC gaming?

      • Yes, it uses a 3.5mm Jack that goes into your Line Out on your motherboard sound card.

This is a great deal, but I have heaps of headsets already. But I live in 2 areas. So I have 2 gaming PC setups. I have one with a gaming headset. But when I'm away for work in Melbourne I run a DAC with Focal clear professionals and seriously made me into a audio snob. Recommend to stay cheap. Once you spent $2k+ you don't want to wear anything under $600

    • I've got some focal clears as well I haven't had a chance to open - which DAC do you use?

    • It's mostly placebo after a certain pricepoint. I love high end audio gear so I am not hating.

    • As you get older your hearing worsens so its a win:loose till your eventual death.
I cant tell the bloody difference on anything thats more than 400-500..

I wear AKG's now a days connected to a RODE Caster and struggle to really spot the difference with anything else that comes along.

  • Any good wireless headset deals?
