Reflects off shiny objects when doing macro work, but nothing matte black gaffa tape won't solve.
Pretty good camera, pretty good deal.
Get the A7 IV for just a little bit more when on sale…
Next level camera…
Get the next level one for a bit more again?
Been a M43 shooter for a while, saw some Sony full frame cameras and was a bit disappointed with features. This $2000 camera only does 1/4000s shutter speed even on electronic shutter when even budget M43 bodies do 1/16000 or 1/32000 etc. Also I guess sensor readout would be slow since this has a much bigger sensor so electronic shutter not as useful?
If 1/4000 is a limitation for you and a deal breaker that's cool, but I don't use more than 1/800th outdoors on bright days, even shooting almost wide open.
Is there a reason you need such a fast shutter?
Every camera is a trade off in some way, for this one you have to consider whether you need vastly better image quality and whether it's worth a stop of shutter speed (as most high-end cameras will only go to 1/8000 unless you're buying top of the line sports and action focused cameras like the R3).
As to electronic shutter, I shot fashion and corporate events for some of Australia's largest and well-known brands and weddings in a past life with my A7R2 using the electronic shutter (which isn't the fastest) and never had a problem, but it depends on what you shoot because you can definitely notice the slower readout speed in some workflows.
Cheaper than the previous deal
Just got this camera during Black Friday sales, paired with the Samyang 35mm f2.8 makes a nice compact setup
I'm still not gonna budge yet. Getting close to A6600 at it's cheapest.
The silver CW is way better for this model imo, nice contrast
