I'm not sure whether some have jacked up their prices or not. But I was about to purchase something for $320 using "SNSDEC" for $20, and at 1200 this code popped up and I saved an extra $12 or so.

    • Price is already up.

As in inflation? Isn't that just "life"?

  • Doesn’t work on the item I want. It’s a non-plus item.

    • Are you a plus member?

      • I am but the item I want is not a plus item, it won’t accept the code above.

    • +1

I don’t think Plus items matters as long as you have Plus membership, since the code works on private seller items as well.

      • Ok so it doesn't matter, true. I tried again and added a different item from a different seller. It still wouldn't let me discount the total order completely. I think because the first item is being sold by a seller who is away, even though I can purchase it now, it just won't accept the code by itself. When I checked out the two items together, with the other item in the cart from the other seller added, it only discounted 10% off the second item.

TLDR, it won't work if seller is away :(

T&C should reflect this if this is the case :)

I consider 10% off for eBay to be the normal price.

    • Exactly.

They just do these codes, just to nudge people to reducing inventory of sellers.

Sure just have to come after all the shopback great promos….

    Voucher expires 04/01/2023

    • ok may wait to stack with next SB promo.

  • +3

It works on used items too! Expires 04/01/2023 but will likely get pulled earlier. Link to Ts&Cs (broken at time of posting): https://pages.ebay.com.au/buyer_coupons/2022/plusflash4/

  • I just used this 10% for a Dyson v11. Got a massive $88.90 off.
This same item on offical Dyson site is $899. On eBay official Dyson store has it for even cheaper for $889 plus you get 10% off. Total got it for $800.10. I’m wrapped. Won’t find a Dyson v11 for that price anywhere.

    • +3

Just ring up Dyson, ask for a deal and tell them you already are a Dyson owner. Trust me, you will be surprised!!

      • I doubt they’d do $100 off though? Considering this is $10 dearer on their website at 899 and I got it for $800.

        • +1

Even better, you can tell them the cheapest you can find elsewhere. Your call though - Next time with Dyson try this first and you can thank me later.

          • @websterp: I’m on live chat to them now. Let’s see will report back in a min.

          • +4

@websterp: Okay, this was the response even after some haggling to ask eBay or not can they still beat $800 and this was the final response:

“ I am unable to offer this price as it is for eBay exclusive only.”

            • +5

@UniqueGuy: Have to accept I was wrong then. Has worked for me few times in the past and also for some others I know of.

              • +3

@websterp: You will find that a lot of retailers can't match eBay promos as the $$ off is worm by eBay itself not the retailer.

                • @Deridas: Really? I have heard and thought it is the seller who absorbs the discounts not eBay.

                  • @HeyJes: It depends on the sale is my understanding. On my other ozbargain posts the conclusion was that "SNSDEC" was also discounted by eBay itself and the sellers not absorbing it.

I presume the codes that sellers absorb the costs are the ones that get their prices jacked up, and if the price doesn't get jacked up it must be eBay absorbing the cost.

I am curious to know who absorbs the cost for shipping though for eBay Plus free shipping…

Thanks I see. A few months ago I bought a Dell monitor from eBay with a 20% off promo. I wondered who absorbed the cost, as the pre-promo price was already discounted so it was definitely not jacked up.

Crazy good value deal. Following your logic it sounds like eBay absorbed the cost, but I suspect Dell ultimately did.

                  • @HeyJes:

You are confused with the store invitation only promos.

                    • @Buy2Much: Would you mind clarifying what a store invitation only promo is please? Is this like the Dell or Myer 20% off deal?

                      • +1

@HeyJes: EBay send invite to stores to participate, if they agree, eBay contribute like 5% of the discount, the stores contribute the rest (reading previous comments on OB). I don’t know what’s the agreement Dell/Lenovo etc strike up with eBay though.

                        • @Buy2Much: Thanks! One thing I know from reading the tax invoice from Dell is, the price was the pre-promo price. Thanks for your insights!

Was holding out for something like 15% but playing it safe with stock and what not …

When I went to checkout it had a banner at the top prompting me to apply voucher already.

    Works on appliances online!

  • Doesn't work with Peter's of Kensington unfortunately.
I have ebay plus and all items were ebay plus as well.

  • Just grabbed a DS920+ NAS for $735.30
Not quite as good as the ZIP deal but close enough considering the price kept going up during BF/CM.

  • +2

I couldn't click on the terms and conditions but an FYI I made a purchase using the code and the code is still available to use for another purchase. So looks like it can be used multiple times.

  • Beware if you don't already have eBay Plus. Code doesn't work on all 3 of the items that I am eyeing. They are all international sellers if it means anything.

I signed up to eBay Plus to attempt using this code, which is now wasted.

I'm sure if your seller is a chain store or brand from Australia, it should work.

    • If they are eBay Plus eligible products, isn't there a thing that states this is free shipping if you have eBay Plus?

I don't know how it works I'm afraid.

    • They are all international sellers if it means anything

I've never found discount codes that work on items from international sellers, they seem to be permanently exempt from promos.

  • Annoying my order only comes to $74 and this is $80 spend wonder if there be some lower spend offers

  • If anyone dares purchase seconds WF-1000XM4 from Sony, brings down to $170.10

I am tempted but I think safer to wait for sales for new ones.

Code seems to be gone now despite saying it expires 04/01

    • +2

Very poor of eBay to cut it well short of the stated date 4/1/23

      • They also did this with one of their "pay only $1 in fees" for sellers recently.
I had one that was "pay only $1 in fees for items listed and sold before december 31st". It started around nov 1st, and then they changed the end date to nov 17th, on nov 17th…

    • Available for a limited time only *T&Cs apply

  • Unfortunately, this code no longer works. Please continue with your order.

    Expired

  • +4

    Big thumbs down eBay.

    • Yeah eBay you w**kers, I couldn't pay last night because I was waiting for a revised invoice from the seller, now I've got to pay $20 more; wtf do they put these codes up with an end date that they know is BS.

      • For whatever the reason the T&Cs aren't viewable this time, but the standard T&Cs on these kinds of promotions includes the clause "eBay reserves the right to cancel the offer at any time."

More often than not they do exercise that right when it comes to flash sales, sitewide coupons or coupons that apply to all eBay stores.

Once the "Pay only AU $xxx.xx. Show me how" disappears from listings you know they are nearing the cap for the promotion and you need to act fast or you will miss out.

    Damn you fleabay!

  • Merged from Ebay Plus Members Discount Code - Vanished after clicking 'Buy it Now'

First time I have experienced Ebay offering me an Ebay Plus Members discount code on an item page I had been searching - only for the code to disappear after clicking on the Buy it now button!…tried to add it manually and got the 'no longer available' message.!

Contacted Ebay via Live Chat and they finally said the code had been pulled early. I said why offer the code then !

    No answer.

Anyone had the Discount code disappear after clicking the buy it now?

This code was PLUSHFLASH4 10% off supposed to be expiry 4/01/2023 …clearly they pulled it early…but if they have offered it to me on an item page I had just found then I believe they should honour it.

Whats to stop this occurring again ..nothing it seems.

    • +1

Try PLUSES10. Source. It mentioned that eBay can cancel anytime, I'm pretty sure they say this to all of their offersl

      • PLUSES10 Got rejected.

        This code has expired.

    • Yeah I know they say that it can expire anytime - but if you are offered on a web page as you find it and then click immediately the buy it now- I believe you would expect that to be honoured.

    • +1

Not legally required to honour it, so just move on

      • +1

If you go into a physical shop in Australia - you see the Manager putting up a sign that says coffee machines now an extra 10% off….you decide that's a good deal and trolley your coffee machine to the checkout…but the checkout chick/dude says - computer says no discount. Should the shop honour the discount.? And what does Australian Consumer Law say…

  • +1

damn, this honestly sucks, was available this morning, got some gift cards with some flybuys money few hours later and now it's gone, pretty pissed off tbh

    • SNSDEC still worked but paid ~$20 more than expected

  • Same boat. Saw this deal late yesterday evening, so ordered some giftcards, went to pay today, code no longer valid. :'(

  • Was wondering why the prices were no longer jacked up, now I know.
