In a rental so don't need one of these, it makes it harder to push potato skins down.

I really do want to protect my shower drain but part of me feels like it should be independent and capable of fending for itself. Then I consider the price (in spite of the saving) and I’m all like (profanity) that snowflake showerdrain, I never had no protector growing up, why should I spend 11 bucks just to coddle a damn plumbing grill?

In the end I broke down and bought 2. Just cos I’m an orphan doesn’t mean I should neglect my bathroom features. Onward and upward, feel through the pain. Be the better man, I thought to myself.

Could’ve almost bought a six pack with that $11 tho

      LMFAO!!!

    These are great quality.
We've had one for 10 years. Still going strong.
Incredible/disgusting how much it catches too.
But saves me the even more disgusting job of spiral dredging the drain every 6 months, so will worth it.

I don't think we've ever had to "dredge the drain", and we have an old house. What on earth are you doing in the shower?!

I do believe (though presumptuous of me to say so) that you really don’t want to know the answer to that question.

          Waffle stomping?

          • @TsundereGuy: I love a bit of waffle stomping but I’m always sure to follow up with a shot of caustic soda as chaser

            Waffle stomping?

What I was actually thinking of is what Einstein called spooky action at a distance. I’ve no idea what it means but it’s just what came to mind.

          Something about this house.
Previous owners must have been very furry!

First time I dredged, I pulled out a tennis ball sized lump of hair (sum total from multiple attempts).
Despite this, it was fully clogged again ~6 months later.
          It drained very slowly.

I pulled maybe half a ball the next time.
And again that lasted ~6 months ish.

          Bought one of these.
Whenever my wife washed her hair there'd be at least a pea sized lump of hair caught…

Some people are hairier than others

        • They dint really take it serious though did they? The average neglected drain harbours a matrix of various fibrous materials (including hair) that a more viscous fluid than water might fix to.

Having said all that, as I indicated above I believe the problem to be spooky action at a distance. It may only be a theory but there are vaccine conspiracies that’re predicated on far less substance I can assure ya

  • Not good at all. It does make it takes a long time to drain the water. I gave up and threw it away.

    • I think you're supposed to clean it once in a while..
