No red CW disappointed
This is my 4th Ultraboost, i find the latest ones incredibly uncomfortable. Its also rubbing againt the side of my ankle causing irritation. I loved Ultraboost but not these ones.
Did you try removing the insoles?
might help if it's back of the heel irritation but sounds like adidas made the 22s narrower in the ankle which doesn't suit some
19 was peak ultraboost, i dont know what is adidas doing with later models. They're not lifestyle shoes and they're not running shoes.
DNA shoes are still cool. lifestyle wise.Agreed. My last pair, however, the sole/rubber on them wore so freaking quickly it was ridiculous. Comfy but I would have needed 3-4 pairs to get through the year if I was to wear them continuously.
+1 for this.
I bought some UB and the bottom heel seems to flare out a bit. First time running I literally had tiny cuts on the inside of both ankles.
I bought a pair of 22's when they first came out from Adidas.com.au and immediately returned them - the plastic bit on the sides dug into my foot when i walked.
UB 22s are so ugly unfortunately. Wish 5.0 DNAs would go on sale
These are the ugly ones btw…the bad ones are always on sale. Good ones never are for the past 3 years
I dont like UB22s but the colorways on this sale are alright, you got a full black, a full white and a blck one with a white boost sole. I personally also like the black one whi the green accent.
I got ultraboost 22 5.0 dna for $196 on iconic.
First of all they are not '22', model name is 5.0 dna.
Secondly, i see them way chaper in other places, footlocker has them for like $135@nikoris: Is that the US Foot Locker site?
@CrispyChrispy: yes, it's $200 in Australian (so i deserve the downvotes )
If you can find any stock or sizes it seems
U19 plus votes for me for runners.
U22 seems to put more pressure on the ankles, less supportive and at the same time feels like a heavier ride. As much as I like UBs being marketed as a running and lifestyle shoe because they are cheaper (discounted prices on past models seem to get <$100 at times, this is pretty expensive for a deal and because it's U22 I'm not biting) perhaps they need to focus on making a proper long run/running shoe.
RE: prices maybe scale means it's easier to produce than other running shoes (which to me have more feel but much less support running on cement ie. NB 1080s or Nike Pegasus, UB 19s seemed to get the balance right - not too heavy yet supportive, Kayanos to me are too much) which seem to hardly ever drop or at least below $130.
As a runner I get more R&D may be put into the shoes but paying 33%-50% premiums over lifestyle shoes (your stan smiths, lacoste, cons) I feel is just a money grab.
True… I still look for UB19
Prefer my $39.60 ZX 2K BOOST from the Adidas sale
weird bargain flex but ok
Do we get UB23 next year?
guess
The UB lines has always been popular and still currently is, so I don't see why not
Bought these on vacation after my old asics wore out and started giving me foot pain during long walks. Went from barely being able to take 30minute walks to walking 3-4hrs+ without feeling anything. Though they were extremely uncomfortable during the first few days till they broke in. They were also significantly warmer than previous mesh shoes I've owned making them uncomfortable on very hot days
Can't tell if you're recommending them or not from this
Also, how do these shoes need to break in, lol they're literally just boost and fabric, they should be ready to go from day 1
Kept feeling constant friction on my ankle which started chafing during the first few days of wearing them (even with socks). This seems to be a common thing for some people.
@[Deactivated]: Did it get better? Thanks for replying
@nikoris: Yup, the friction thing went away in less than a week. Didn't feel anything after that.
Just listing tradeoffs. Not being able to use them for extended periods on hot days is the only one for me at the moment but apart from that these are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've owned and the only ones that didn't give me any pain during all day walks.
Anyone having issues with the payment page not loading? I.e. after checkout > shipment/C&C details > continue to payment. I keep ending up with a blank page. Happening on all my devices and have tried multiple browsers too.
I should have listened to whoever said only fugly colours on sale. The navy blue UB was promptly returned, that’s my 3rd attempt at UB, seems it’s not meant to be:(
Got myself 1080v12 in blue, same price as UB, so let’s see how that pans outTLDR why does Adidas make good shoes with silly colours?
Note to those confused: These are shoes
