Also if you have a 28 Degrees or equivalent card that does Price Protection, make sure to use it. A couple of years back Our Sony TV cost 1900 at sale but eventually got knocked down to ~1200 over a 12 month period.

    • did you get $700 back?
      or how much percentage back?

do you just take a screenshot that sale price as proof?

      • It dropped in price I think three times over the course of 12 months. Each time I claimed a bit more money back through price protection. As long as you have the receipt and a screenshot/scan of the item at a cheaper price, it shouldn't be an issue.

    • Do i need to do anything to activate price protection? I have the card but not sure if i have this or how to make sure Iā€™ve done whatā€™s needed to activate it

  • I am very interested to get the 65inch one. Is it a good deal?

Itā€™s $200 cheaper than a deal I got in early December. Iā€™m very happy with the TV, very hard to beat at that price point.

What advantages does this 55" have over 55" oled which is just a couple of hundreds more? Or is this deal mainly about 65" one?

    • +2

If you can get an oled for $15-1600 you are probably better off going for that. Assuming the oled is hdmi 2.1 capable there is probably very little advantage going for an led (brightness, no risk of burn in maybe).

  • Wow surprised to see the 65X90K for the ~$1500 mark again.

I know I don't need to upgrade from & sell my 65NU8000, but it is still making me wonder…

  • Will it get more cheaper tomorrow??

  • Should I go for this 65ā€ or LG CS OLED 55"? Both around $1600.
I feel 55ā€ bit too small for my living room.

    • Actually the Sony 65" is ~$1500 if you buy from the Sony store and wait for CR 12% cash back.
Ask yourself, which feature give your family a bigger bang for buck overall viewing pleasure, a brighter TV or a 10" bigger screen?

      • Actually the Sony would be brighter also. So it's not a choice between the two. The CS OLED naturally cannot get as bright as the LED TV.

        • when would you want brighter screen?

I thought it is all about how good the blacks look in the scenes

          • @pinkybrain: If your tv is in a bright room where, like in my mum's place, there's window glare from most angles then high brightness will do a good job mitigating that.

IMO OLED is for people who want immersive experiences and LED is the general type that fits every other space.

How far do you sit from your tv? That is the defining factor really.

I suggest you look at some videos on OLED vs FALD or QLED or whatever else, thereā€™s a fair few different reasons to go either way. For example if you have a bright room then oled probably isnā€™t a good idea.

    This or the C835?

    • Seems theyā€™re pretty hot competitors but Iā€™d go sony just because of the post processing and proprietary software they use. Plus it seems the Sony offering is less likely to be faulty.

Thanks for posting! eBay doesn't automatically show this code on the listing or my Ebay summary summary, so I really appreciate you sharing this, as well as all the other eBay deals this year :)

    • You are welcome. I myself also benefited from deals other op's posted during the year…

  • Are these made in Japan?

    • no,
      they are made in Japina

I have a SNSMD****random letters**** code under the listing which gives me $120 off, bringing it to $1565. I don't want this TV though and I think the code is tied to my account. Might be worth checking your ebay codes before you use the one listed in this deal

  • I ordered with the official sony site using CR, but they sent me an email saying "Unfortunately we're unable to process your order at this time."
