It's a solar charging analog watch but date only shows 31 day month so that needs adjusting once a month if calendar day accuracy is important to you.
Fully charged it should last 5 months but the idea is to expose it to some sunlight everyday and never have it run out of battery.
It's a Casio Baby-G so small watch 37mm wide (32mm dial) for ladies or young people. It's shock and water resistant down to 100 metres (unscrewing the crown to adjust the watch ruins the water resistance! make sure you screw it back tight after adjusting the time!!).

Battery charging details here: https://support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/009/qw554…
e.g. 8 minutes of total sunlight walking outdoors a day is enough to keep it going.
30 minutes of total sunlight exposure through a window or 48 minutes total through a window when it's cloudy everyday should keep it running assuming it is running when you open the box.
If the watch is completely dead then it needs about 90 hours of total sunlight through a window to fully charge it. e.g. just leave it by the window for 4 to 5 days.
After 11 hours of sunlight through a window it will start running, but I assume there is only about 10% to 20% charge at that stage.

Nice find, also noticed this one seems cheap -

    Here's WHY the new GM-6900B is worth 200USD | G-Shock Deconstructed

FYI - negative displays can be hard to read for some.

got the dw6900sp-7d for $71 back in october. that one was positive display but had those 25th anniversary graphics as a background so was even more difficult to read lol

  • how does resin fairs against sunlight , durability wise

I have a Casio watch now with a resin band. Feels good firm but soft enough to be comfortable and still durable.
Most of G-shock's range uses resin bands and I expect Casio to use high quality resin so you don't have to worry about it too much.

I'm not a watch expert but I think the other common band materials are nylon and silicone. Nylon is durable too but it's hard and uncomfortable. Silicone starts falling apart quicker especially bad quality stuff and is the softest of them all.
You might think Nylon being harder is the most durable but I don't think that's necessarily true. Resin is probably the most durable out of the bunch I think there is a good reason they chose resin.

By the way it's a solar watch but that doesn't mean you should take it off and leave it for hours in direct sunlight outdoors. If you are going to charge it from completely dead battery leave it by the window indoors to fully charge it over a few days.
Once it's running just wear it on your wrist and 8 minutes of walking outdoors in the sun or 30 minutes by the window everyday is enough to keep it going.

      • "Once it's running just wear it on your wrist and 8 minutes of walking outdoors in the sun or 30 minutes by the window everyday is enough to keep it going."

I wrote it correctly in the post but thought I should correct myself here.

If the watch is running it's 8 minutes total when walking outdoors, so 2x 4 minute walks on your lunch break or 4x 2 minute walks which you should achieve easily everyday.
Same with the 30 minutes (48 minutes when cloudy) by the window. You don't have to sit there holding your wrist by the window, just casually be by the window everyday that adds up to a total of 30 minutes/48minutes.
As watchnerd says you don't really have to think about it as long as the watch is running. I would try give it a decent charge when first getting it though because it might be low on charge from sitting in it's box at the warehouse.

The Baby-G will tell you it's running low on charge by moving the second hand in 2 second movements, so that's when you know it's a good idea to get some extra sunlight or just take it off and leave it by the window for a day or two during the weekend to help top it up.

I wouldn't recommend leaving it in direct sunlight to charge. I never do this with my Citizen Eco-Drives and they charge fine. The main thing with solar watches is to not store them away in the dark for a long time.

    • as long as it isn't clear resin, you should get some decent life out of it if you keep it clean and don't leave it outdoors under the sun deliberately.

  • Managed to order one yesterday. Thanks for the post!

    • No problem. Was out of stock at the deal price whenever I found the eBay link above (dicksmithau = kogan) but good that you found one!
