Do you ever wonder when OzB posts sell out in minutes whether what you're seeing is actually
    classic retail 'bait and switch'??

Waiting for a deal on azur Elite for some time

I compared this model and the Elote, and they look mostly the same. Same wattage, steam output, water capacity, etc.

The Elite has “IntelligentIQ” though for automatic steal release… sometimes I wonder if it’s just worth paying the extra, getting the newer model, and being done with it. And then grabbing bargains whenever else I can.

      • Series 8000 also releases steam automatically, the only difference that I can see that 8000 series claim to be better for vertical steaminig which will keep my wife happy :)

        • The Elite is also advertised to have vertical steaming!

I think the 8000 model is a clearance model… it’s no longer on the Philips website.

    • I've got the azure elite and I regret the purchase. It's perfect for delicates but for everyday items, the plate doesn't get hot enough.

I always use it on max steam and it still fails to iron out the creases on my cotton business shirts.

  • After having to go through a youtube video on how to iron a shirt, an iron like Panasonic Ergonomic 360° Quick Steam Iron is preferable.

  • I bought a $49 Philips 3000 last week, irons fine.

A $20 iron does just as good a job. Lol!

Right? I came here to see what the fuss was about. It can't be worth that much…
