This has become the new standard HDMI cable price, no excuse to pay more elsewhere, $5 is now too expensive.

  • Sweet. Need a 1m long cable and been waiting for a $2 deal like this.

  • Not bad cables for the price. I did find on my WDTV that I had to drop the refresh rate to 1080p 50hz from 1080p 60hz for the cable to work. Also had to drop the HDMI colour depth from 12 bit to 8 bit. Otherwise they worked fine.

    • Seems I should avoid buying 2 dollars cable like this?

      • For 2 bucks it's worth a shot. I'm yet to try one of them with my Blu-ray player to see if there is any major difference between my current cable.

      Eh? Really?

How did you manage to drop the refresh if the cable didn't work until you did? Did you connect it via some other way first? But then you coulndn't have selected 1080p?

      • The cable worked, but not very well till I made the changes. Screen was experiencing flickering and other display anomalies.

        • I'm guessing you just got bad luck with the quality of your cable.

I can't imagine there is much quality control on these.

        • I bought a few so I will give the others a try and see if it's consistent across the entire range. I didn't say it was a major criticism, but just thought people might find the info useful.

        • The main issue is if these can't do 1080p @ 60hz then they are useless for certain things like PC monitors that have a HDMI port.

Its a 1.4 cable so it wouldn't make sense if the average one couldn't.

        • Good to know. I will report back tonight on how the other cables perform. There is also the possibility that the WDTV I have doesn't like these specific cables.

        • Now that I think about it my WDTV does 1080p 50hz regardless of cable and TV, I wasn't aware they could do 60hz, I know they do 720p at 60hz.

        • I have a 120Hz capable TV if that makes any difference.

        • Don't think so, my TV can do 60hz yet WDTV outputs 50hz at 1080p.

        • 100Hz rather

Well go and do your test already!

Patience, I wasn't immediately in front of my TV to do the test. So it appears the first cable I used was a dud because the second one works fine.

Also FYI Sam, here is a photo of my WDTV settings.

I've personally had a very good experience with these guys last time. Took just a couple of days to get my cable compared to the 3-4 week wait from HK.

Hey Rep, I'm still waiting on that 32GB MicroSD Card. Are you avoiding me cause I sent you a couple of messages and heard no reply.

I will be taking this up with Paypal tomorrow if no further action is taken

  • Thanks Danilo. Just bought 3.

I have plenty at home but they are 1.5 to 2M. Shorter is better, less cable clutter.

  • Thanks

Hey Rep, I've sent a Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone for replacement to ShoppingSquare - it's been 6 weeks and I'm still without a phone. Shouldn't you guys be giving a brand new replacement, when the phone dies in just a couple of weeks! Can you please expedite. My Service Ticket number is 267532 and Return Authorization number is ARA5038.

    Thanks,

This is disgusting, 6 weeks and no update.

I'd be happy if I never saw another ShoppingSquare deal in my life.

  • Do all hdmi cables have Ethernet? Is this an advantage?

    • +1

nope not all cables support the Ethernet feature, and I have yet to see any devices that take advantage of Ethernet over HDMI.

  • you obviously haven't used a MONSTER CABLE

  • Cool. Was just about to order a few 3M cables for $10 each… Saved me a few bucks!

  • Nope, about to google said monster cable…
