Bonus $1200 Gift Card with Telstra $99/mo (24 Month) SIM Plan (Port In or New Services Only, In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

130

Probably the first time I've seen $1200. Was handed to me as I walked in and only 5 day offer.

    • Funnily enough, that link shows it offer ends 14th December, however that pamphlet provided shows starting date as 14th and end date as 18th

24 months it's a no deal for me. Hopefully they will have a 12 month deal on boxing day. I remember that deal of $500 gift card for $59 per month for 12 months. Anyone knows if that deal will be back?

The thing going against it coming back is that JB was doing that offer every 3 months or so in the lead up during that year, and then also had it on Boxing Day. This time around we haven't seen that deal this year essentially, but it's all guess work so who knows.

When I asked one of the JB staff members, they did flag they is going to be some sort of Boxing Day deal. Not sure what though.

Was $89 black friday with $1200 gift card.

    • Sounds like the same deal without the $10 credit, maybe able to get the credit via Telstra chat then?

Look at this deal from a different perspective:

    $1200 gift card
    $99 monthly repayment
    24 month term

    Interest rate is 76.563%!!!

In return you get some data you'll never going to use up.

can you please post a deal ?

        Get this
        https://www.commbank.com.au/credit-cards/low-rate.html?mch=p…

and then buy your phone of choice with 12 months to pay it off + $250 cashback. Then just chuck a prepaid SIM in it. Works out a lot cheaper.

        • Seriously? … Credit Score impact, managing another credit card are all worth the $191 (-$59 Y1 fees)

@Huntz: I recon its worth it compared to paying 76% intrest on a loan , if you NEED a loan like that.
If I NEEDED that loan, getting paid for it souds like worth it, compared to paying heavily for one.

What is this "credit score impact" anyway? How many dollars is it worth to you? And in what units does one measure it and how many units is a credit card application worth?

Applying for a home loan through a broker - my credit score was never a consideration. CS sounds like a bit of a myth to me tbh.

As an accountant, pre tax deduction should also be considered mate.

    • Very true…in one of those suckers that took it up several months ago. If I could turn back time….

  • omg I signed up 2 days ago when it was $1000 gift card.
Would I be able to do anything to receive the extra $200?

  • Can we still downgrade the plan after signing up?

  • Can anyone else find the clause about the 30 day port in?

    • I managed to port out for a week and then back in, with the $89/24m $1200. Based on past comments, looks like it depends on who serves you in store.

      • Thanks for the follow up, i'll test my luck on a store to store basis

        • Yeah, I believe as long as you go in using anything other than Boost or Telstra, should be good.

  • yeah I don't consider this a decent deal unless your work covers it or something

  • wish they come up with international calling as an add on.

  • Idk who may find it useful but The Good Guys are offering $1400 off on laundry and fridge products if you sign up onto the $99 plan for 24 months

  • If you get a deal on Boxing day, do they port you in there and then? Or can you select a future date?

  • should have done it at $89 a couple weeks ago… If they do that for boxing day, I'm in!
