You tell us, you've posted the same thing twice. Reusing jokes?
Yeah nah
Jenson still thinks people are mining eth?
Or on Meth..
Coke mate, meth is for people who can't afford this card
AMD and their paper launch today FFS.
Eagerly waiting. Not sure what time we can order cards, does anyone know ?
The 7900xtx goes on sale tomorrow ( 12:00pm tonight )
12:00am and expect a paper launch since no PC sites have any sort of banners etc.
we dont even know AU pricing yet.
if its more than $1700 then its a hard no… at least for me…
@tephra: which card are you referring to ?
@tids2k: 7900XTX
@tephra: Got a feeling it'll be pessimistic aud conversion (~$2k-2200).
Can't imagine them not selling out at in between $1600 - 1800. Unfortunately.
@MiniMyna: your probably right…
but i think that would be incredibly stupid of AMD to price it close to the 4080… i guess we will find out in a few hours :)
@tephra: Corporations do like money, in their eyes it’s not stupid to squeeze more money out of people
I am not sure, Nvidia deals just sound like bunch , trying to steal your money with a mediocre performance card. With the pricing stratergy they had for previous cards, the taste is too sour. @atm more hatred than the high pi gers who joins Aussie game servers ;-)
Mediocre performance card? Wtf are you smoking?
GPUs 2008-2020: ~30%-50% more fps at the SAME PRICE every 2 years.
GPUs since 2020: ~30% more fps but also ~30%-50% more price.
Please tell me what that has to do with calling this card 'mediocre performance'.
Than maybe find someone else to have your imaginary argument with.
Neg me all you want.
@scuderiarmani: Mediocre performance boost per extra dollar increase in price.
It seems you’re triggered because you bought it recently?
@AussieGargain: No. He didn't say that.
And given he's eagerly awaiting the AMD launch tonight and scoffed at $2k for a card, it doesn't take a professor to realise where he's coming from.
@scuderiarmani: If the price goes up as much or more than the performance, then performance has not improved.
@MagnamoniousRex: Mediocre performance.
It's the 2nd best card available.
If that's mediocre, what's a 3090ti?
Almost everything has increased in price in the last 2 years of COVID impacting supplies and resources.
Well 7900xt is gonna be a lot more than 6900xt, price creep is inescapable
Gees video card cost the same a single PC which will be obsolete in a year or two.
A 4080 is going to be obselete in a year or two? Really?
Jimmy with his 1080ti begs to differ.
- Jimmy with his 970 begs to differ (performs better than RX6600XT).
@waggat: Jimmy doesn't play childrens games like Elden Ring. The 970 does perform better in Hell Let Loose. AMD suck for UE4 and dx11
@Jimmy77: Jimmy is self conscious
@Pugkin: Waggats been obsessively following me for months saying "Jimmy sez 970>6600xt" by taking everything I say out of context.
Click his profile lol and see what I mean
@Jimmy77: 3080 10GB now selling at $1249, up 25% from lowest. How's your prediction going mate?
Actually tempting, actually. I'll have to consult the council.
Getting an extension on paying your rates to get the card?
Well these cards are getting big… an extension may soon be a requirement..
People who buy these cards pay rents not rates
Regardless you still gotta pay
Seconded. Also do retailers exclude a printed invoice with the package on request these days?
Far out $2000 for a graphic card, put that towards your savings goal or put into Mq Savings account for 4 months.
And with the savings you make put it towards a $2500 graphics card!
But then you don't get the thing…
Nah, I got no intention of spending 2K on a GPU but $1600 or below and I'll probably bite.
that's a strangely close line to draw lol
@xrailgun: Is it? It's 20%.
@BradH13: You don't think $1600 for a gpu is extremely expensive lol? I wouldn't even pay $800 for the 4080
@Jimmy77: I paid $1300 for my 2080 Ti currently in my system, and $900 for my 1080 Ti before it.
Just gen on gen increases like everything else in life now, sadly.
But yeah, $2000+ is too much. I can draw a line there easily.
@BradH13: Don't mind him, he's aiming for $500 4080. probably in a million years yeah…
Says the guy who is wanting to know about the AMD launch?
Stop spamming this deal.
this 'deal' .
Lot of losers negging this comment. Nvidia is like their life/football team
Lemme tell you I see people treating amd like the second coming of Christ 1000 times more often than that. I just buy whatever is most beneficial for me, which just so happens to be nvidia, I’m not buying 40 series or 7000 series due to pricing, just compare the comments on nvidia card posts and amd card posts. People forget it’s comparing corporations
Thanks AMD, thanks for making this kind of pricing completely reasonable now after the shit show with RDNA3…. sigh
Lol, shit show? Chill Win-stahn
look who's not caught up…
The 7900XT is overpriced… That's it. Otherwise the 7900XTX offers a great price/performance alternative to 4080, at least in USD.
Where's the shit show you're referring to?
Damn AMD with their slightly better performing card that costs noticeably less per a frame.
It's a bit misleading to say that.
Raster performance, yes.
RT and AI features, absolutely not.
Imaging selling a 2000 GPU and still ask the buyer to cover shipping cost smh
I remember when I bought my RX580 for $300, the top end GPUs were $700-800, and I was like “no way I’d ever pay that for a graphics card, that’s insane!”
Man, do times change….
for a sec i thought you were talking about GTX580 haha yep. paid 450$ for my gtx580 back then, SLI it, happy days.
Yeah people complaining about $2000 gpu's but fine with paying $1200-$1600. Weird af
Well 1200 is less than 2000
well their budget is more than $500, so why not?
Well AUD’s gone downhill since then
RX 580 fam here .
Anyone have details on the AMD 7000 series launch tonight?
?? you mean last night?
Reviews last night. Available tonight I believe.
Another $700 drop and I'm in
no deal, top of the line cards should be no more than 1k,
RX 7900 XTX : $1789 AUD
RX 7900 XT: $1619 AUDGoddamnit. I like to back AMD where I can, but for $200 more you might as well buy the 4080.
And get what for your extra $200? Get 9% less 4K performance in non-RTX games (so most) and whopping 20% in RT games? (Although in RT AMD is still sad and sometimes many times slower)
Unless you are after specific game or piece of SW where NVidia shines, the 4080 is really not a good deal even after this discount. They need to go way lower. As expensive as 4090 is, it is the card that makes more sense from bargain perspective.Depends where you look, most benchmarks putvthe average at around 5 % ahead in raster over the xtx. Thats so minor but the ray tracing is quite a bit a head and dlss is far superioe to fsr imo and is in more games, id rather pay the extra $200 for the 4080 since ray tracing is coming out in most new games now, even the witcher 3 will have ray tracing. If youre paying near 2k for a car you want it to be able to do it all. In saying that ,both cards are over priced and need to come down $200 . If the xtx was $1,600 that would be a no brainer. AMD really dropped the ball they really needed to either comfortably beat the 4080 in most games or come out with an aggressive price and they couldn't pull it off unfortunately. Waiting a few months for the inevitable price drops, these cards wont sell well once the initial novelty wears off lol
@S1nn3r86: Ha, I read your comment after my latest reply. Totally on the same page.
RT is finally becoming a useful feature (I'm more interested in GI and RT shadows than reflections) so from this generation at least, it's finally a consideration for me. The extra RT performance is a bit more meaningful now. DLSS is still the better tech, although I'm hopeful/confident AMD will continue to close the gap with FSR.
Honestly at these prices they're both shitty deals. I'm going to wait for the inevitable reductions that will happen with this gen.
For the record, I'm running a 6800 (managed to get RRP at release too) and it still goes hard.
this is just ridiculous .. shame on you AMD or should I say shame on our tax system . that is usd 1299 same for 4080/90. far out these graphic card companies. not buying AMD too. Ridiculous pricing
Duopoly. I've also upvoted every neg for this deal to circumvent all the non-lhr bots
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1739783-REG/xfx_rx_79… delivered to AU almost same price. :-(
Yes this $2000 consumer gaming GPU is a good deal
No its NOT
he was being sarcastic
RTX 3080 second hand for $772 delivered. Feeling pretty good about that right now. These cards are ridiculous. The new AMD ones don't seem to be much better value either. The gamers are the ones being gamed.
Amen, 7900xtx performs on par with 3080 in blender, 3080 will likely be my next upgrade
The meta is to just buy last gen, for both companies. 40 and 7000 series are expensive and disappointing, save your money and buy a 30/6000 series
I think I just seen all the amd 7900xtx sell out at pccasegear in under 4mins
7900 xtx aren’t much cheaper, rather to wait and buy a 4080
Why the negs???? Only reason i seem to be hearing is "they're priced too high and can't afford one". Well inflation is a B! Blame nvidia for being greedy a*sholes, not the deal.
Inflation is real, lunch is now $16, used to be $9 before covid.
An AMD Fanboy is spamming the thread, only need to check his post history.
He scoffs here about the $2k GPU as he has many posts, and he himself posts an $1800 XTX deal.
World's changed. People are gonna have to adjust.
Tell me about it lol. General shopping used to cost me $190….. now it's $260, not to mention the price of fuel used getting there.
Rent, power, fuel, car maintenance, grocery shopping, enertainment like going to the movies and such…. costs a freaking arm and a leg. They should rename bank account 'savings' to 'spendings'
Can this help me get 144Hz on 4K for my favorite FPS game Nekopara?
