Bad experience with the last Hisense oled, it died after 9 months and the replacement offered was an absolute piece of crap

    • +2

LG replaced my OLED panel for free due to some ghosting even after 5 years.

      • out of warranty? free?

        • yes

        • My LGB7 OLED showed burn in well after warranty ended. LG replaced the panel for free and has been absolutely perfect since then with daily use. With no hassle. So my 5 year old LG OLED is by far the best tv we have ever owned including my 2021 Sony 9500H. Fantastic picture.

      • Firstly You brought a oled 5 years ago seriously?

I have recently purchased 75qned85 Lg mini led tv . I see they only provide 1 year of Warranty. So keen to hear more on your case.

        • +1

2017 (first lg oleds). You should know your rights as a customer, don't just go by what they say.

          • +1

            @SpaceNinja: @glenfernandes

I also got mine in 2017 (LG C7). It developed burn-in in a pattern of a box. But couldn't do anything since I imported it from abroad.

I think this generation had alot of burn-in issues.

  • I have a previous model 55" Hisense OLED, it constantly bugs me to do the panel refresh. Hisense ignored me when I contacted them for a fix.

HODL and pay a little extra for a LG or Sony at Boxing day. Based on the reviews of Hisense OLEDs, better to shell out a little extra for a reputable and well reviewed brand.

    • +1

Hisense is a reputable brand it just depends on the model of TV.

      • +8

No they are not… shitty warranty.. and selling tvs under the same model as overseas but with shittier panels.. spend a bit more for a lg

        • +1

Nah there are plenty of good models of Hisense TV's available in Australia.
Hisense has a 3yr warranty on TV's and Sony 12 months.

      • +3

Don't know why you were negged. They have some very good value LCD TV's.

It's just their "higher end" offerings like OLED's I wouldn't buy from them.

        • +1

Some people have a bad experience with a brand and won't hear any good against them. I agree about the top end stuff, even Sony was off the list for a while there.
TCL is another company that is making great TV's that gets a "crap brand" rap.

          • +1

@Spendmore: I get that. I've had terrible experiences with LG and Hyundai which have made me biased against South Korean products.

Doesn't mean I don't recognise that others have had vastly different experiences to me.

          • -1

@Spendmore: But TCL is way better than Hisense.

            • +1

@The Value: Depends on who you ask, which is the point I'm trying to make.
Most of these comments are personal opinion with no actual facts provided.

            • @The Value: In what way? If you connect an Apple TV etc. to any cheaper Hisense or TCL TV there will be virtually nothing between them.

              • @[Deactivated]: Hisense's naming convention is poor thus misleading.
TCL's after sales service, in my experience, has been superior.
                TCL's software is also superior.

                • @The Value: Fair enough. I connect Apple TV's to all my TV's so never needed the software.

Currently have 4 Hisense TV's as cheap secondary TV's in my house (For the bedrooms and outside) and other than one TV which was DOA and swapped immediately I've never needed to use their support.

        • Hisense has the best bang for buck for low-mid range TVs. Better picture quality than similarly priced TVs.
But I'd personally spend extra 800 and go with Samsung or LG at this price point.

  • +1

Would stay clear of Vidaa its the worst and does not get all apps

  • +2

I like Hisense TV's for the bedroom or those on a budget. Their LED offerings are generally good value for money.

I wouldn't spend OLED money on them. Stick to Sony, LG or Samsung for high end TV's.

  • I have a Hisense mini led tv and I’m pretty happy with it. We also have an LG Oled in the media and just use the Hisense loool

  • I just recently bought the 55X8HAU on black friday and I'm super happy with it. Great picture. Everything looks amazing. Time will tell how it goes in the long run but I have generally had good experiences with Hisense (got 2 others going strong for many years).

    Posted by a monad!

Thought more people would be mildly concerned that the screen size in both inches and centimetres say rounded to the nearest integer before proceeding to display decimals..

Hisense do very good TVs. Had recent OLEDs and LCDs from LG, Sony and Samsung, other than Hisense's motion and OS they really do compare to the best. OLED motion is already poor for 24fps content so unlikely they would be able to get near Sony or even LG, Samsung maybe. If you like SOE Hisense does a great job with that. Hisense warranty is 3 years, I've had to use it in the past and it was a quick home service to fix the issue for a small TV. Dolby Vision on the Hisense dual cell is as good of a picture as I've ever seen, that includes my OLEDs. Motion is average though.

    • Considering up till recently all consumer OLED TV panels were made by LG, picture quality has been very similar between all brands making OLED TV's. The only real differences were Sony always had the upper hand on motion and overall build quality, while LG had a massive lead on gaming features.

When I viewed a Hisense OLED a few years ago in store I remember a lot of artefacts with the motion, otherwise it looked just as clear as any other OLED. The real issue for Hisense is their OLED's weren't cheap enough to justify buying one over a more established brand like Sony or LG.
