I have been looking for this mainboard for some time. Couldn't see it less than $509 until this. I know it is DDR4. I have 32GB DDR4 modules so I wanted make use of them hence this model.

may as well go Z690 and save even more money if youre using DDR4. if you're going with 13th gen, you really should upgrade your RAM too. check out Hardware Unboxed's video on DDR4 vs DDR5 performance.
you also get the benefit of being able to use your DDR5 in future rigs. DDR4 is end of the road.
Yeah I wouldn't spend so much on a DDR4 board, I would look at these instead https://www.pccasegear.com/products/56054/msi-pro-z690-a-wi-… + https://www.mwave.com.au/product/team-tforce-vulcan-z-32gb-2…
Good price on the mobo
I just want to make use of my existing RAMs. I was hoping that this mainboard would drop around ~$350. Let's see. If not then z690 is more logical for DDR4
But you just posted it here as if it is a bargain at $485?
Grab the Z690 Steel Legend Wifi if you want a decent DDR4 board to use with an LGA1700 CPU. https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/motherboards/intel-socke…
Price reduced from $549, $509 to this price. This might be good enough for some of the OzBargainers. That's why I posted.
Thanks for your suggestion. ASRock looks good and way cheaper.
your suggested video shows no difference at 1440 and 4k. Any reason why you should upgrade to ddr5 if you already have some ddr4 RAM?
This is the video I was referring to, I should've linked it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IstA56IAeVA
Some games show up to a 20% improvement so looking at the overall average doesn't tell the full picture. Steve is also comparing some of the best DDR4 memory (CL14) with mediocre DDR5.
If you have and want to keep using DDR4, thats fine, just no point overspending on a board to do so (in my opinion).
only becoz they tested using 1080p. Unless you use a highend GPU e.g. RTX 3000/4000 and a 1080p LCD, your 99% of time GPU bounded.
@spad: Sure - so keep using the DDR4 you already have, and get a reasonably priced board to accommodate it, knowing that it is end of the road and you'll have to buy DDR5 for your next upgrade anyway.
If building a totally new system, stretch for the DDR5 board and RAM and get some futureproofing benefit.
@xyron: Maybe by the time the ram/mobo fail, DDR5 'might' be cheaper by then. Cheaper, better speeds, availability, colours (rgb unicorn poopy), whatever else they come out with lol.
It's already come down signifficantly since it first came out, but will be the norm later when DDR4 is phased out
Looks like a waste of money, especially for a DDR4 version. Shouldn't be spending more than $350 for a DDR4 Mobo for 13th gen
