did they just list this? it wasn't there before

  • +10

Dammit, thought that leaderboard was actual prices from CentreCom

  • @Twix adjusted the Centre Com price in the title down as original deal already included the $5 shipping

  • +1

Where can I find this? Listed above.

    6950 XT = $1079.34

  • +7

Metrocom.au on eBay, selling ex mining 6800xt and 6900xt with 3 months warranty. got an ASRock taichi 6800xt for $636.

    • That's a great deal

    • +7

Really admire their honesty that it was ex-mining, the 3mo warranty demonstrates good faith.

      • +2

That's what I thought. I bought an ex mining 1080ti last ceeypto cycle from someone at Gumtree, not a single issue and it overclocked just like the ones on YouTube. With 3months warranty I'm willing to take the risk. From my experience (25years) I never had to RMA a card, they don't really age. I will do my usual testing and if the vram is stable with an 50-100mhz OC (I think it's pretty limited on rDNA 2) I'd say the card is fine.

And another treason why I'm not so tempted to buy new anymore, one of the "raise the game" games (Callisto Protocol) seems to be a mess, so no value for me anymore. With 2 games and a steep discount I would've considered buying new.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/255860891684?hash=item3b927f6024…

link if anyone else is interested, just had a look myself

    • A 6700xt for 400 flat with the zip bnpl discount? sure, I'll give that a go even if its ex mining.

    • +1

Their ex-mining cards have been posted here before.

There’s was a lot of bellyaching about ex-mining, but in the end the cards went like hotcakes, and no one reported any issues.

    • I thought the 6900xt was the least profitable card around for mining?

      • It was, it performed exactly like the 6800 and 6800xt but it was still profitable. Especially if you factor in resell value and cheap electricity.

  • Just ordered a 3x fan 6700XT for about $595, but I guess this is better value. Might change it…

    • +1

was looking to get a 6700XT for around that price too and indeed at 33% cheaper, this might be better value for 10% downgrade in performance?

  • Need a card might just bite the bullet

  • +5

Must HODL for RDNA 3 💪

    • +7

Straight US price conversion + GST is …

      RX 7900 XT: $1,474
      RX 7900 XTX: $1,638

Interested to read the guesses on what the local premium will be on top of that. My guess is $1,699 and $1,899 respectively.

      • +4

I’ll be waiting for the low-mid level stuff, so could be a while

        • Low end cards are trash nowadays if they even exist. All we got last gen was 6400/6500xt which were rubbish cards.

    • +2

I pulled the pin and grabbed a 6700XT for $595.

      Sadly 6800/6800XT stock is non-existent.

Next gen will be $1500-2000AUD based on the information from the weekend.

      • +2

Yeah, same, picked up a 6700XT this weekend so that I can rock a new 1440p ultrawide display. I keep kicking myself that I ignored one of the Black Friday discounts where the 6800 was only $750 in the hopes of good Cyber Monday deals (or others over the weekend) only for it to get sold out.

        • Agreed, now I have to keep HODL for the next deal. I've been using the 6800 as a yardstick for everything else. In terms of value, only the 6700 tops it.

    • +1

      💪🏻💪🏼💪🏽💪🏾💪🏿 Unity for RDNA 3

  • Does anyone know if the fans stop spinning at idle on this one? Love that feature.

    • +2

Yes, most cards from the last five years do that. This Sapphire card would have that feature.

  • For 1440p, is a 6700 gonna be enough?

    • Yeah. It's just enough for current games unless you're using it for ray tracing.

    • +1

Depends on games and desired frame rates. I was looking to get one for 1440/60Hz, but then picked up a 4K/144Hz monitor during BF.

    • +1

Yeah at least 60fps in pretty much every game. 100+ fps in the less demanding ones. It can do borderline 4K 60fps too, although if you max the settings you would be around 40-50fps.

    • +3

my 5700xt is enough for 1440p

  • Damnit! This stupid thing doesn't fit in my case! Me want…

  • +1

Price was like this for Black Friday, I snagged one for one of my kids. It's quiet and been flawless so far no stutters or crashes to speak of. He came from a 1660 …sorry can't give you numbers just his 'yep a lot better' comment.

  • Guys, how do these compare to 3060 ti and how many PCIE power connectors / pins are required?

    • +6

1 x 8-pin Power Connector needed for the Sapphire 6700.

3060 Ti looks to be on average ~11% faster at 1080p and ~14% faster at 1440p.

      • Kudos for those tables sir, made upu mind to jump on this one.

      • +1

FYI.. the 6650XT is almost as fast as this 6700 non TX

  • +3

Bit the bullet on black friday after seeing the cards plateau.

    Paid $599 for a Gigabyte 6700XT 12GB eagle.

Did I overpay? Probably. But use that as a reference point with what you are prepared to pay.

If everyone waits for the next thing, no one will buy.

    • +1

The only cheaper than usual 6700xt was this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/707290

I'd say it's probably worth $50 more than your gpu, not $79. But was in June

It's a $500 at most imo, but not until people stop buying them (prices won't drop soon)

  • Does anyone know what's the idle power for the 6000 Series?

    My 1060 6gb idles at 8-9w

    • +1

This page has graphs showing a few of them https://www.techpowerup.com/review/powercolor-radeon-rx-6600…

    • I bought this Sapphire Pulse 6700 a few days ago at $479 (minus Citi 5% cashback, so not all bad). Currently idling at 6W (single monitor, as reported through AMD software).

      • Very helpful thanks !

Might replace my old 1060 in my unraid server.

    • My 6600XT idles at 4-6w 165hz 1440p monitor
My 6800 non xt idles at 5-7w 165hz 1440p monitor

Dual monitors running 165hz 1440p run 20w for the 6600xt and 30w for the 6800

At 1440p 60hz dual monitors idle power at 4-6w for the 6600 and 5-7w for the 6800

My guess is that a 6600 non tx undervulted would idle with the lowest power usage 1-4w

Nvidia 3000 series use more power

    • +2

My 6700 XT has been flawless. Been using for nearly 2 years. UE4 stutter issue is a problem with the engine not the GPU, even a 4090 stutters.

      • No it's not my 970 runs fine on all my U4 games.

Downvoters can talk all they want but I'm right and they are wrong. See for yourself! And yes it's the gpu/driver I've confirmed by swapping it out with another.

        https://www.veed.io/view/1a1049c6-e8d6-487c-afec-ce31e643dec…

Irrational AMD fanbois will still downvote this and reject reality because they are children. It's a $349 brick

        • +1

Could be a system bottleneck causing your performance problems if you were previously running a 970. The 6600 XT is a significant increase in performance.

          • -1

@Yuri Lowell: It's ran mostly fine on the 6600xt before. 10400f b560 3600mhz. The problem is AMD cards are not plug and play. They are the modern version of Windows ME. Headache after headache. Any form of software change is rocking the boat. The entire recording section in Adrenaline was missing. Compatibility issues with the latest Windows 10 updates I've been told, unacceptable in 2022.

It's not just me there's an entire sub reddit dedicated to AMD driver issues. I don't play fortnite but there's an entire angry mob there who own AMD gpu's!

            • @Jimmy77:

              10400f b560 3600mhz.

6600 XT only has 8 PCIe lanes. Could it be a bandwidth issue?

              PCIe 4.0 x8 = ~16 GB/s

              Your B560 with PCIe 3.0 x8 = ~8 GB/s

        • PC gaming can be an elitist pursuit and you'll most likely pay the price for the privilege. Not only in procuring the parts for a custom build or even relying on a vendor for a pre-built, but also in the time and effort needed to troubleshoot a problem when something doesn't quite work properly.

In your case, it sounds like you just expected it to "work" when you swapped out your old card for a new one. Having built a tonne of PCs for myself and others, this is often not how things pan out (as much as we all expect it too). There are just too many variables and factors that contribute to incompatibility and performance issues, especially when the sky's the limit when it comes to picking parts for a system.

If you're not willing to put up with this, then go down the console route and accept the limitations that they bring. That's why they exist

          • -2

@OSienna: lol I've been custom building pc's for 27 years. Been there done that more times than I care to remember. I still see the "how to fix fps" youtube videos essentially telling you to waste hours of your life reformatting your entire pc and the rest.

I thought those problems were in the past until I bought my AMD gpu.

            • @Jimmy77: As a PC veteran, you should know better then. Things like fresh installs and DDU are just par for the course.. even in 2022

              • @OSienna: Not with what gpu's cost these days!!

Tbh I got over pc's and held the same pc from 2012-2021. A 3570k with GTX 560/970. Absolutely no issues the whole time. I thought Windows 7 signalled the end of compatibility issues. Most hardware companies have put it in the past, I don't see ram issues even mentioned anymore, just amd drivers!

        • You just said that it has been fine since you reinstalled drivers, but also call it a brick?

          • @filmer: It reminds me of some mid 90's prototype. The recording and streaming tab in Adrenaline were missing lol. Got it running fine now.

For perspective I also got Windows ME working fine back in the day after 4 or so reformats

            • @Jimmy77: You seem to have a lot more issues than the majority of other people.

              • -1

                @filmer: no you're just ignorant.

                https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/xvtn2u/amd_your_driver…

If you only play cyberpunk and Elden ring that probably explains your ignorance

                • @Jimmy77: The first response to the post is recommending driver 22.5.1 which is the recommended stable driver from AMD. Given the time the post was written, I am pretty confident the poster was using a beta driver. Pot calling the kettle black here I think.

                  • -1

@filmer: lol 22.5.1 stutters worse. Why can't you just admit you're wrong and have no actual experience with this yourself?

    • Gave you a + because your posts on GPU deals are exactly the kind of humour this world needs

    • Don't forget your 970!!

      • Moreso don't forget to read my 2nd comment. You'll see I didn't forget my 970

  • FFS, paid $449 a pop for two 8gb Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6600 XTs last week.

  • Does anyone have an updated version of that price to performance table which used to get posted?

  • anyone got 6700xt for $500

    • ATL has been $530

    • +2

I paid $515 for a Used Sapphire Nitro AMD RX 6700XT 12GB OC. Upgrade from EVGA GTX 970 4 GB and I don't think I can hodl on much longer lol. Finally, I can move on with my build.

      • +3

I did similar. Last week I won an eBay auction on a 6800xt for $740 and despite being pretty close to the ATL for a brand new card, prices right now are nowhere near that. Feels good to finally have a GPU worthy of my 1440p screen.

  • Darn, I just bought this for $470ish last week…

  • I got my ex mining taichi 6800xt from Metrocom.au. I put it through its paces. No issues at all. Ram overclocked to the max, 2150mhz, fast timings.
Core goes to 2650mhz, exactly like the one on techpowerup. And the temps are identical too and the ram pads look like new, not dried out or crumbling.

The card also looks like new and is huuuuge, love it.

So please guys stop with that "mining destroys GPUs" nonsense. If the price is right and you can test them or get a warranty from the seller, get it.
