where can we find an actual mechanical keyboards at this price?
AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, Kogan. Most brick and mortar stores won't have any at this price range, you're better off looking online. Much better value
I've used this, membrane RGB keyboard with clicking sound. Wasnt too bad.
Is the wrist rest removable? Already have HyperX
Yes it's
Is this the super comfy wrist rest one?
True
$54 at Mwave + delivery
https://www.mwave.com.au/product/razer-ornata-v2-rgb-mechame…Came here to poat thst but you bet me to it!
Been using one of these for a couple of years. Took the keycaps off to remove the clicky component and now have a really nice quiet keyboard.
Using one right now and like them. Had to RMA the last one, and this one's got a slightly sticky space bar action, but usual Razer quality I guess. Good price for what you get.
Don’t waste your money. Just go all the way and get a proper mech. Keychron have excellent and cheap kb’s.
This keyboard feels similar to a mechanical keyboard, though thankfully it doesn't make the super loud clicky sounds. It's a perfect match between membrane and mechanical IMHO.
Mechanical doesn’t mean clicky - you can choose the sound and feel of a mech by picking your own key switches.
There are clicky switches which are loud and have a bump when you press down, there are tactile switches with a bump but no click sound. Finally, there are linear switches which don’t make much noise and have no bump. All of these are satisfying to press.Lots of good options! But you don’t get to pick any of them with a razer ornata.
Hear me out. Save your money, and get a keyboard with hot-swappable switches. That means it comes with switches out of the factory but you can easily swap them out and install your own if you like.
Ducky, Keychron, Akko and others make entry level keebs around the $100-150 mark that are of great quality.
Picked one of these up myself today.
Love how it feels. I've always been a membrane keyboard user because I didn't want typing to be loud. This keyboard feels like a perfect mix between membrane and mechanical, without super loud clicky keys.Have you looked into mechanical keyboards with silent switches or just switches that aren't blues? There's plenty out there that'll be very quiet
Umart have a number of great keyboard deals at the moment.
Unfortnately The only shop in SA appears to carry no actual stock. At least not any of the keyboards that I was interested in.
So… If you live in SA then bad luck. It is like they are not even having a sale.
I've used some 'mem-chanical' boards, you might as well just get an actual mechanical board for this price. Just marketing jargon.
