nbn Unlimited 250/25Mbps $111/Month Ongoing (FTTP and HFC Only, New & Existing Customers) + $35 Setup Fee @ Future Broadband

81

Moved to Spintel with the latest offer but was having constant dropouts to the point that it got unworkable.

Learning from "you get what you pay for", opting in for something that a bit rock solid and willing to pay for quality nbn.

Looked around and found that Future Broadband had a few popular deal on.

  • $111pm for NBN 250M/25M Flatrate/Unlimited Data (normal price $120)
  • $116pm for NBN 250M/25M Flatrate/Unlimited Phone + Data (normal price $125)

Discount is ongoing and not for a limited period.

Obviously this is not a deal for everyone.

Better deals out there… Guess they wont have much of a future

Weeb opinions are automatically disregarded, FYI.

I have been with Leaptel on their 250/25 plan (took this deal) and they've been rock solid too (and $12 cheaper per month)

    • That's only for 12 months

      • +1

Correct. I'll save my 12 x $12 = $144 then probably I'll jump ship should there's no better option available at that time.

If you are CBA customer take a look at this long running deal . I'm currently on their 250/25 plan for 83.3pm without any complaint .. just yet.

    • Im with More 250/25 and it has been great so far. No drop outs or anything. Porting from TPG was butter smooth.

  • Future use TPG's business network as a wholesaler, I have been on their 100/40 2500GB a month plan (with unlimited data banking) with the 3500GB sign up bonus since July.

You can also pay in 6 month increments which reduces the bill by 7%, which would make this plan $103.30 per month ($619.80 total) AND you get a static address.

Highly recommend them, uptime has been great and their support has been awesome (Owner is also active on Whirlpool). Up in the NT so alot of the slightly cheaper deals are not available in my area.

    • I am on the edge of getting the 500/200 from fbb, may I know how the "You can also pay in 6 month increments which reduces the bill by 7%" works? thanks mate

      • +1

After sign up you simply login to their portal and under one of the plan changes there is a 6 month pre-pay option, I think you can also do 3 months for something like 3.5% off.

If you get stuck their blokes on chat are great and can help out.

Been with them over 12 months, been super stable and no issues at all in that time, especially when WFH. Highly recommend.

Same speed with superloop at $105/M

I had to move to superloop because when I moved houses FB will not continue me on the original plan of $111/M

    • Superloop are cheaper for 6 months before it's $119.95 ongoing and you don't get a routed static IP.

      • They gave me an offer of $15 discount for life at the end of 6 months - that made it $104 for 250/25

Keep an eye on the email close to 6 months

  • +1

If you keep an eye on the whirlpool thread, they throw up discounts every 6mths, like $20 off for 6mths

A few friends reccomended Aussie Broadband, though they are more expensive at $129. Been goos so far but we are on the 1000/50 which is currently $129 using CODE BFPOWER20
Offer ends 5:00pm AEDT on 12/12/2022.

They are my ISP and they are great. I'm on 1000/50 plan though. Always good speed about 920/47 for me. Static IP and Reverse DNS great for WFH.

Oh yeah and I'm HFC, so HFC is capable.

I'm with FBB HFC on a legacy 250 GB 100 / 40 plan for $79 pm, with a few Tb in the databank. As others have noted, rock solid.

Jason and team know their stuff, and active on WP. Their WP threads are quite small, because there's nothing really to discuss, they're just boringly reliable.

Uses TPG / AAPT business network, so when the office people go home at night, home users get full capacity of a high grade network. Wonderful.

Was tempted by the More CBA higher speeds deal, but if I switched back, I'd lose my current low cost plan, so staying put.

what do they do for this $35 setup fee?

    • -1

Use a referral link (hopefully mine!), above comments section, to get it waived.

    • I think it is what they pay for the static ip routing

      • ok. makes sense then.

    Not a deal, cheaper elsewhere.

Eg. https://www.letsbemates.com.au/nbn/ Elite Mates $99pm with no setup fee. 208mbps peak hour speeds.

Had no issues myself for over 12 months with them.

    • On what planet is 208mbps good on a 250 plan?

      • Looks like there's a few unhappy Mates in the WP thread.

        Wulfe writes;

"Now though, I would rate them worst provider I have ever had the misfortune of coming across, NBN speeds slower than our old ADSL2+ service, and mobile data is unusable anywhere outside of Sydney, a dial up connection would be better, and more reliable".

    • We have been FBB customers for more than four years. You may well find cheaper deals elsewhere but probably not with the same reliability, static IP and excellent customer service. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

  • 1000 /50 here with Future no complaints good speed day or night pay 129.50 per month using their 6 month pre payment discount

  • Ugh, just decided to move to spintel from more because of BF deal, I might afraid I have made a mistake based on OP comments

    • It turns out Spintel has CGNAT enabled; which means you cannot port forward things (e.g. plex, game server, web server, etc).
Unless you pay for the additional $5/month

  • When I first joined FBB I had major issues with speed and connectivity… I've had it previously with TPG and Superloop too… Surprisingly Foxtel NBN worked a charm.

Anyways had NBN out previously to look at stuff and never seemed to resolve it.

It could have just been luck but whatever FBB put into their NBN fault report, when they came out, they fixed it good and proper.

    WFH has been a charm…

Anytime there's a scheduled outage for works, there's plenty of communication.

When Foxtel / FBB went down… I logged a fault and even though it was discovered later that the whole area was down.. FBB did follow up emails to advise status changes and then another in a couple of days to make sure everything was ok.

I've used the free VoIP phone you get with them too… Works perfectly and I'm happy. Plenty of numbers to chose from.

So they might be a lil bit more expensive… But quality wise, it's way better than the rest.

It's just a shame this deal is for 250/25 when I'm on 100/40 now.. so he a downgrade lol .. do I use the uploads? I've noticed big differences between 20 and 40 when WFH… Especially dealing with massive files..

    • In order to get higher upload speeds on the NBN you need to have a business and be on NBNEE, NBN Enterprise Ethernet which Future can provide as well, plus as an AAPT / TPG reseller they can also offer the TPG Fibre products including Fibre 1000 which can also do a 200/200Mbps product or it might actually be 250/250Mbps been a while since I've done quoting for it.
Or looked it up as part of my own business.
I should actually do that as TPG have made the offering available in more towns across Australia now.
Its a solid offering though and an NBN alternative.
