  • Some reviews from the Amazon page here: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRNC13-Noise-Canceling-Headphone…

Don't know if the B means improved.

PS: Doesn't the ABN of Videopro need to be posted too?

    • Don't know if the B means improved.

I think the 'B' at the end just means it's the black version.

  • ABN 48 108 370 405 - just found it off their website.

I have a pair of these - they're not worth $10. I bought them for flying so that I didn't have big cans on all the time, but I find them uncomfortable in the ear, the battery case is a nuisance and the noise cancellation is pretty poor. These things live in my sock drawer now and I either use my over-the-ear active cancellers or Shure in-ear 'phones for passive noise reduction (depending on how much space I have available).

    • thanks for the review - what over-the-ear active cancellers do you own?

  • I also have them. They do a decent job on flights etc and block out the ambient sound well but not people talking etc. They also are a little on the quiet side I find (least on my tablet). But as Cletus pointed out, they aren't the most comfortable earphones in the world but it does come with different sized buds which helps.

    • Based on your experience SirFlibbled, do they block baby noise well? I was in a 10 hour flight and 1 of the 3 babies cried for 8.5 hours.

      • Noise cancellers do a better job at low frequencies like the throbbing of plane engines than the frequencies of human voice or the even higher frequencies of babies. So headphones with noise isolation cups might be better.

Sounds like it will make me having Blu-ray sound quality of baby crying by wearing this…

  • I bought these for my recent trip to Europe last month (paid $79 though as I was in a hurry and had 2 days before I left). They aren't $400 Bose quality for sure, but they do work reasonably well. Not sure what people expectf or $60! The battery case can be a bit heavy, I just clipped it to my sleeve. Noticebly quieter when turning on the noise cancelling. I am not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination though, so if you are, you're best spending hundreds on some Bose or Sennheisers etc etc. But the everyday bloke who wants to shut out the hum of the plane, they do the job. I changed the earbuds to the right size for my ears and wore them for around 20 hours in flight each way and my ears were fine, but earbuds can be tricky for some in terms of getting a good fit.

Correct you would have to spend AT LEAST $60 n headphones to match $400 worth of Bose quality.

Correct you would have to spend AT LEAST $60 n headphones to match $400 worth of Bose quality

Corrected: You ONLY have to spend AT MOST $60 n headphones to match $400 worth of Bose quality
        :-)

    • Don't know why someone negged you nafe, so I gave you a + as that's pretty much my observation too. I use similar Panasonic ones to reduce the noise when I travel on the train.
