These are good units, my Folks have been using the white version for a while without any issues. Much healthier than standard deep fryers and alot less messier.

This unit is slightly smaller, and uses a teaspoon of oil to work, unless your cooking frozen chips then it doesn't require any oil.
I compared the two when we bought ours. The Tefal stirs the food with its impeller, where - from memory - the Philips does not.
I don't think it has an impeller.
We were told you have to shake the chips from time to time with the Philips where the Tefal is hands free. From what I've heard, the Tefal is better. Aldi recently had a similar one for $99. But what's the diff between getting this and a turbo oven (aside from the impeller)? I think they all work the same.
We've got one of these. Very good, easy to clean, etc. One minor gripe though, the grey "impeller" piece in the middle seems to be fairly prone to staining. I'm told with a bit of elbow grease, this can be scoured out, but elbow grease is for chumps. Paid about $360 for it at HN about 6 months ago.
elbow grease is for chumps
ROFL, that just reminded me of when we once sent an apprentice to the hardware store for some elbow grease! He didn't find it, but he seemed to locate some new cuss-words! :)
like the old left handed screwdriver eh? tradesmen can be such bastards sometimes ;)
Might not be the same model, but delivered for $161 from amazon - will need an adapter though!
