SanDisk 256GB USB 3.0 Ultra Flash Drive $24.99 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ $55 Metro Order) @ Officeworks

180

First time post. It looks like Officeworks may have responded to the Amazon Au special posted here previously. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/738634. I couldn't see this special on their advertised Black Friday catalogue or their Nov/Dec one either. I would assume it's for the duration of Black Friday period.

Usually retails $69.00 at Officeworks, or $50.00 elsewhere. Price history at Camels: https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B00YFI1A66

The 128 GB is also on special at Officeworks for $17.51. Usually $38.85 at Officeworks, I bought two last week at Bing Lee for $29.00 each.

The 64 GB version at Officeworks is showing at $22.00, for a comparison for value discount amount. per GB. It's more expensive that the 128 GB currently, and almost on par with the 256 GB on price.

Write speed is only 40MB/s which is much slower than most good microSD cards. If you are mainly going to use as a read only device this might be acceptable, but for my purposes it would be unsuitable.

    • Would take ages to fill 256gb.

      • Probably just over 2 hours!
        Painful.

Do you guys speedrun filling up USB drives?

          • @DDman7: If you are using the device to transport or backup more than 200GB of data, then the time becomes important.

If people are going to use it more like a library for videos or ISO, where reading is the main activity and then only part of it, then write speeds are less important.

@DDman7: Will this help to download the internet ?

  • Thanks OP, well done, perhaps one of the best BF buys.
Bought 4, I might need more to download The Internet.

NB: When I purchased there were plenty of item purchase cards on the shelf which you present to the counter, but only a small number (2) of stock behind the counter.
Question: How can you get more on hold, at the reduced price ?
