That is fair, but for some context, these are basically the same as Sennheiser HD650, which typically sell for almost twice that price. The HD58x also from Drop might be a good and cheaper alternative which will provide a very similar experience that will be more than enough for people just getting into high end headphones.
I have been using the HD58x myself for 5 years now and only now am I considering the next upgrade, but I intend to keep my HD58x as they are still to this day amazing to listen to. For some the HD6xx will be all the headphone they ever need as well and many people who do invest in higher end gear still love their HD6xx for many types of listening.

FX rates really hurting it this year. last year there was flash sales down to ~$120 USD, totaling just a smidge over $200 AUD

The additional $26 USD in taxes and increased delivery prices are what really hurts. It's worse still for smaller parcels, because it's a flat $20 shipping for things I used to get charged $5 or $10.
It's a great headphone, genuinely legendary for vocal timbre, but at this price it's also a very short run to the HD 600 (though maybe on sale), the Audio Technica ATH-R70X, the HIFIMAN Sundara, and the HIFIMAN Edition XS.
Depending on your setup, each of those can offer you more.
Also, the price of this is well understood: fixed $20 delivery, and 10% GST bring it to $240.90 USD.
HD 600 went on flash sale @ Amazon US for USD $99 earlier today
Ends up being around $360AUD total. Not sure I could justify that price for a set of new headphones.
