  • ASX data included?

    • From the deal FAQ:

Can I get a discount for data subscriptions?
There are no discounts for data subscriptions as we don't earn anything from these charges. However, as per exchange regulations, we must collect these payments, remit them to the exchange and report users. So no, no data discounts are included in our offers.

Not sure what your question is? TradingView is a charting platform and you throw a bunch of indicators to it. You need a broker for actual trading.
For ASX data I think you need to search specificly a broker that offer that and I guess many won't as it costs them money. Even they do, I guess it won't match the eye candys offered by TradingView?

Let us know what you find!

      • It costs extra monthly for asx live data . For day trading , use commsec ( extra costs ) for live data down to seconds for apps and PC . Use free tradingview for swing trade and some technical charting for asx . I’m using premium tradingview for forex trading only

    • IB is good option too

  • Thanks op, bought the subscription now I can watch my portfolio bleeds to zero.

Heads up there's 10% tax when checking out total USD197.34 for the pro+

    • When did they start charging 10% tax? Does that apply for all plans?

      • unsure, last year no such tax.

    • Why the tax amount has been added to my subscription?
TradingView, Inc. has been registered for tax purposes in several countries. As of now, we have to collect taxes in the regions indicated in our policy.

      yea… new tax added

  • Not sure how you some of you guys are getting the 10% tax. Doesn't show up for me.

    • Did you put in your address and post code?

      • Your right, there was a tax post details input. Found a workaround. See below.

  • AU$489.54 Inc GST for premium

  • Haven't tried, but noticed that Pro version is around for "Free" : https://www.fxcm.com/au/platforms/tradingview-pro/

    • Any hidden Charges after opening account? annual fees etc. Did check terms - nothing mentioned.
Had opened tradingview account yesterday. So guess I can open an account and contact them for reimburse. Worried if any annual charges on opening

      • Just emailed FXCM support and got confirmation that as long as you open an live account, make a deposit, send them the invoice, they will reimburse you the annual fee. Completed above today, now waiting for FXCM to reimburse me the money.

    Workaround to avoid GST/Tax

Use a VPN. Some regions seem to have tax omitted. Paid 288USD for the Premium in my case.

I used a Hong Kong IP and worked. Still charges in USD however. I tested a few others including Bangladesh and Turkey, which both billed in USD. Initially assumed that some regions would have much cheaper rates (i.e. like the usual Ozbargain Turkish Lira workarounds you commonly see here), but doesn't seem to be the case.

Other exceptions: Tried Malaysia, got quoted in MYR, but still taxed at final checkout, which equated to about the same as the a normal Australian IP would get.

    Hope that helps!

    • Thanks but VPN does not make a difference. You would require a local address of the tax free country to avoid the tax. Unfortunately I don't have an international address. Cheers

      • I put in giberrish and it worked. Didn't affect the CC I used too.

        Also… just use gMaps.

      • wonder where you need to enter the address.
Ive Tradingview account from past 3 years and just tried checking my profile to see if any option to add address. Only Location can be specified, but even though doesn't make any difference in Tax. Ive tried Hongkong IP and checking my tradingview profile does show that my last session was connected via an Hongkong based IP.
Still not able to crack the Tax part.

        @ozhxb, any further suggestions.

Address was at the checkout/payment details. I didn't input any address in my account details prior. Not sure what I did differently, but I'm using nordvpn.

    • Perfect! I used Hong Kong and worked for me
