Make sure you selected the lightening deal option when adding to cart, or try http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/all-deals/ref=sv_gb_1
and add it from there. Also, when checking out make sure you apply the 16 bucks or so worth of "credit" on the payment page. That "credit" is the lightening deal credit.
Where is the lightning deal option? I can't find it on my Amazon page.
Was until 9am Aussie time
thanks got one..
First time I tried to check out, it claimed I couldn't send it to Australia. Logged out and in again and it was happy. Well spotted.
For those with heavier cameras, note the maximum load of 2kg. (The D800 without a lens is 900gm.) It's a basic, lightweight tripod by a quality brand.
True but being light weight its a good one to take it on holidays….
Damnit. Why did I sleep in today… Deal has expired…
Same :(
Where do you sign up for alerts for these ?
Hmm, an intelligent alert system based on your comment/voting history?
nice, been waiting for a deal on a tripod. Cheers OP
It's still a good deal at 60$ isn't it?
If you do a price history check, Amazon has been selling this tripod for around 90 consistently until around March, the then price had fluctuated since. Now consider that we are in Australia, I reckon the 60 is still competitive, but I haven't done a full search.
Still a good price but it is always deflating knowing you missed a better price. Now it's the standard price I'll keep looking.
At $60 it's hard to pass up a Manfrotto tripod. It will be better than anything else you'd buy locally at this price point. But do take note of the 2kg limit.
By my calculations a 5D MKII and a 24-70L should be nicely under 2kg?
To be honest, atlas - I wouldn't be putting $4000+ worth of gear on a $60 tripod. That just seems crazy to me.
Agreed, this tripod might be Manfrotto, but its an entry level one for consumers. It will be better than the typical tripod at this price range available in Australia. But its still more of a 550D tripod than a 5D tripod.
Yeah I did some research into it and decided against it pretty fast as even the ball head mechanism doesn't seem too flash.
Now it's $50 + $9, still less than $60 dollars..
Why?Careful with the limit, almost dropped a lens when the foot / camera mount came loose, it's only a slide in
I'm still looking for a good deal on a Velbo Ultrek 43D.
Good price but a bit too short for my liking, max height 55.5 inches (141 cms)
There are a few other Manfrotto tripods on the same page below in the "Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed"
Don't forget although this looks like a nice tripod, the camera must be fixed to it. Unlike other tripods, there is no removable camera shoe. If you're into studio photography, this shouldn't be an issue, however, if you're into outdoor photography, you really need the ability to quickly remove your camera. There have been several times where this has saved the camera from rain! It also makes it a lot quicker to move from spot to spot. You really don't want to be doing that outdoors with your camera attached!
But still a good price !
But still a good price !
I didn't actually buy this Manfrotto myself, since I already got a 718SHB digi. However this one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001D60LG8/ref=ox_sc_act_ti…
does look alright with a quick release head, too bad about the 18 bucks shipping though. I don't get how one tripod's shipping is 8 bucks and the other is 18……
Yeah…that doesn't make sense!
That looks like a decent tripod, any other relatively cheap ones anyone could recommend?
Comes up as $50.48? Plus 8 postage.
