Is the heatsink only required for PS5 or for laptop too (e.g. Dell XPS15) ?
Usually laptops don't need heatsink, but it's best to watch a video or search your model being teared down to be sure
Thanks, I remember I still have support from Dell, so I asked them the same question, and they confirmed no heatsink is required.
This or 990 pro?
If same price, 990 Pro
The 990 pro is better, but its also 58% more expensive. Unless you need those blazing fast speeds (which nearly nothing can take advantage of yet), its probably not worth the current $439.
980 pro 2tb is $311 without heatsink

If you have access to the Samsung Education store, get the 990 pro
Are they still in stock for the education store?
They don't seem to be available for pre-order anymore. I assume OOS.
@DfknG: Appreciate the update.
Do these every hit the Black Friday sales?
If you mean lower than this then quite possible, but we can never be too sure.
For any Crucial purchases, wait until BF - Micron control the pricing directly so there will be deals on the MX, P3 and P5 series
Samsung are also in the same boat but they have already jumped on pricing to get in front of everyone else
PS5 compatible for those who will ask. You'll also need a heatsink
