    Xbox Series S*

  • What are peoples experiences with the Galaxy 4 watch?

    claims 40hr battery life.

    • +12

without bluetooth connected to your phone possibly 40hr,
      18hrs or less once connected

      • +1

I had watch 4 classic and would easily get 2 and a half days with bluetooth on and notifications (Not every notification on)
18 hours are Apple watch numbers

        • I charge mine once a day in the morning when I sit down at my computer at work when I first get in, some days its on 50% when I charge it sometimes its on 10% I'd say an average of 25%. I have all features enables.

    • +6

      Horrible battery life TBH.
But may be worth at this price point.

      • +1

ah fair, I have the Full guard by diesel, jesus that watch runs like a Potato for 12hrs of battery.

        • +1

Really comes down to settings & use ultimately, I generally charge mine every 2nd to third day fully. Or just chuck it on charge for a top up when at the desk. I mainly use mine for silent notifications, no need to look at the mobile unless required. No need for ringtones or annoying notification sounds, specially while at work. RIP Crazy Frog lol

          • +3

@adinico: I've had to cull far too much on this diesel its basically a time teller that lasts 2 days (the diesel full guard)

      • +2

        Horrible battery life TBH.
But may be worth at this price point.

I dont think it is worth if it has horrible battery life to begin with. You'd spend more time not wearing the watch as it doesnt have enough juice left on it.

        • Used my 44mm for 3.5 months, I love it. Good battery life with BT always on. Gets through a day of 7+ hrs tracking skiing.

    • +3

I have mine connected to Bluetooth all the time, and at currently full charge it claims to give 3 days and 14 hours in Settings.

In reality, I'd probably wager that it gives me fairly close to the advertised 40 hours. Only really charge it every 2ish days.

However, I do have Always On Display turned off, Power Saving on and don't really use it for anything more than alarms, timers, steps and to tell the time.

Edit: Forgot to add that I have the 44mm

      • oh wow…so much for a smart phone in just using that basic steps…mine is die after 13 hours of usage I think; typical smart phone/watch these days…require daily charge

      • Do you need the bluetooth on to make nfc payment with googlepay on the watch?

        • +1

Sometimes I don't have my phone on me (e.g. leave it at workplace when going to buy lunch), so I'll give it a go and let you know.

    • +4

I have the 44mm size, and I get at least two days use while bluetooth connected.

Watch is NOT in power save, but I only use it as a watch, pedometer, heart rate monitor and phone notification. I'm not using and installed or native apps.

    • +2

depends on the size. if its the larger one i found it used around 50% in 24 hours. i charged it each night around 6pm and it would be between 50-60% remaining.

      • Same here. I have quite a few power-draining settings enabled too. I'm happy with it.

    • +1

I have the 44mm watch and it normally last 3.5 days from fully charged to totally empty. Always connected to my phone via bluetooth + multiple apps notification, but with always-on display turned off. My usage pattern is very minimal though. Only use it for notifications, alarm, steps, time, and the hourly forecast (on the watchface).

    • +1

Is Samsung Galaxy 4 worth the upgrade from Samsung Gear s3??

      • +1

Yes, for marginal better battery performance and reaction/ response time. I did just that recently

        • marginal? Is that worth it.

What did you do with your old watch? Mine is working properly with no issues but tempted at $199

          • @Homr: In my case I was annoyed with my deteriorating s3 frontier battery life, and a broken strap, so I went ahead with the s4 🤣 but might not justify $200 improvement

            • +1

@jabbawocky: my strap kinda broke too, but I glued it back together

          • @Homr: Ebayed it for like $50 unfortunately didn't fetch much

            • +1

@jabbawocky: prob would've got more from Market place

      • i think the main thing would be are the variety of apps worth it, theres quite a few good ones on wear os 3

    • +1

I got the Watch 5 because I was concerned about battery, and this watch lasts about 30 hours with decent mixed usage. This watch's physical battery is 15% bigger than 4's.

      • +1

I charge mine everyday, so im not really concerned about the battery

        • +1

Me too but you still want it to last a bit more than a day so that when it gets older it'll still last you a day. At least that's what I thought when deciding.

          • @electioncliff: Mine currently last for 2 days, but I'm not a heavy user. I don't even know how to use it to the max extent hahaha

What I like about it is to be able to see whos calling, read SMS and whatsapp messages without pulling out my phone from my pocket.

            • @Homr: That's really good. My watch had stabilised around 30 hours which I was happy with as I use it moderately, but wow I really wish it lasted 2 days.

    • Charge mine every day 42mm Galaxy watch 4, you might get better battery time with the larger one. I was getting two days with my Galaxy Watch series 1. But I use my watch a lot calls, heart rate, sleep with it on health monitoring and exercise…..If your eye sight not great definitely go the larger one as can be difficult to make out icons as they can be small.

    • +2

I have the watch4 44mm version, no LTE

I have AOD off, does all notifications, sleep and step tracking, reminders etc.

lasts 2 days easily when I forget to charge, but usually I pop it on the charger when I go to shower, it has enough juice for the next 24h when I pick it up

best smart watch I ever had

      • quite a few people had this issue. I am on the latest firmware and haven't had any problems (44mm here). but to be honest I never let it discharge to 0% or turn it off, it's always on

the problem only happens if you turn it off on this firmware - from looking at the comments

    • I have bluetooth always on, always within range of my phone, I take phonecalls, every notification vibrates on the watch, I do a 30-60min tracked gym session, and do a 1-1.5hour cycle (GPS and full health tracking) whilst bluetooth music to my earbuds, have always on display on, constant 24 hour heart tracking…. And I get a days use, put on at 6am and its pretty low on battery when I go to bed around 10pm. WIthout the cycling/music stint I'm still on 45-55% at the end of the day. This is the LTE 44mm watch4 version. I dont know about you but Im pretty happy with that battery life

    • Battery life on the 44mm is pretty good, I get close to 2 days, not great with the 40mm.

    • The 44mm battery is fine, 40mm not sure, should get a day out of it with everything turned on.

    • I get two days, but don't use always on display

  • am i seeing LG C2 $1888 and SONY A80J $1788 respectively?

    • +7

If you can see anything in detail on that image you are doing well

      • I could be wrong on the LG, but for the Sony, other than A80J which they still have in stock, i can't see any other for OLED SONY ( only A80K the other 55 inch).

    • +3

It's the LG CS 55 inch that is $1888

      • darn.

      • Disappointing. If the CS is 1888, no way the c2 will be under 2000.

    • I was wondering what the 65" was, but I think both the 55 and 65 are the "CS" model (judging by the stand). CS would appear to be a cheaper model.

      • Only difference is the lack of Evo panel is my understanding. Same HDMI ports and chipset etc

  • +2

I have a watch 4 from previous amazon deal, got more than 1 day comfortably. Full charged at around 8pm, wear it to sleep until next evening with about 30% left. AOD off, wifi off and bluetooth always on.

  • +3

Good deal on Q series Samsung Q930B soundbar - $792

    • Cheapest yet and sub $700 with TCN cards

  • I have been eyeing off the C1/C2 for gaming - Series X - but really am happy with a 4k TV that is going to be great for movies as well. What are some options in the C1/C2 price range? 65" +.

    • +1

I've got a TCL 65C835 from the last deal on here and it works amazingly well with the PS5. 4K 120Hz is gamechanging in FPS. Very happy with the colours and interface as well.

I was holding out for a C1 but at the price I paid ($1126), I couldn't justify C1/CS/C2 prices. Honestly, I am happy I didn't buy an LG.

  • Eyeing on the Garmin Vivo 4s smart watch. Does anyone here own them and know if it's worth a shot?

  • Any good mobile plan deals?

    • +1

      24 month $99 w/ $1200 giftcard will return

  • I been keeping an eye of the cheapest switch oled version on jb and just realize the price was jacked from 48x to 539 recently.

is it because of the poor aud rate, or jb being jb?

    • That was a sale price.
If you have eBay Plus, Big W have had the best discounts thus far.

      • so the 48x is a sales price, and normal price is 539? good to know.

i wish to take that ebay plus deal but i wanna use my jh hifi gift card… maybe wait a bit to see any jb deal comes next week

  • +2

    $1388 LG C2 42"… my god

  • Anyone used the X5 before and is it worth the price?

    • +5

BMW's are decent cars but sell them before the warranty runs out.

    • Using it, great phone with no issues. My partner just got a pixel 7 pro and after using both, I prefer the X5.

    • No. Battery awesome and charge speeds but clunky phone. Camera ok but not great at night. I paid about $1300 and will be taking it back to get a new one to sell as I got some gimickey insurance.

Let me know if you have any specific questions

  • no apple deals yet?

    • 10% off Macs. Check the catalogue for yourself.

      • Thanks.. I think OW has 15% for macbook pro

  • +2

No love for Galaxy Buds 2/2 pro

    • Yeah I know ehh. Guess I'll use the discounted gift cards on a C2

  • Nice price XSS! I have a plan to buy it instead of desktop.

If you are happy to lose the 4000 other things a PC can do above the one thing they both have in common (can play games) then sure!
      You're winning!

      • +3

Well you can do most of those "4000 other things" with a $500 pc so its not the worst idea.

    • +1

Can you use a keyboard and mouse for Fortnite on an Xbox S? This might be better than a pc for the kids if so

  • +1

God I was hoping for the fold but its only the flip…damn it

    • $700 off the Fold 4

    • Flip is actually way better

  • +4

Don't forget to pick up discounted JB gift cards at Aldi

  • What is the model of the samsung tvs?

    • By the look of the stand I think is Q60B

  • I really hope they have a 75" QN90B for under $3,600…
I feel that I might be pushing my luck though.

    • Ill sell you my 75" Q900 and Ill buy the Samsung 98" haha

  • Anyone tried out the Fenix 6x? Want to get it

  • +1

    no Surface pro deals :(

  • Is Samsung Galaxy 4 worth the upgrade from Samsung Gear s3??

  • I might get Officeworks to price beat Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G 128GB

    • Why would you price beat when using giftcards would give you 10% off as well.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/736949

      • Will purchasing via GC eligible to claim as an expanse on my next Tax return?

        • +1

Yes. It's still a form of payment regardless.

      • I assume they mean they will price beat at Officeworks then use the discounted gift card to pay for it at Officeworks….not a bad idea

        • Did not pickup that Officeworks was part of the discounted giftcards also. Thanks heaps!

    • Check staticice before buying. It's only really $10 off JBHifi's usual price of $599 for that phone.

  • I only play Fifa but hate to pay $99 for it each year :|

  • What are my chances of getting a deal on the 21st potentially near the end of the day? Travelling OS so wouldn't mind a GST refund on a mobile. Pretty slim I expect?
