Store has good reviews for other headphone such as Ananda Stealth and Edition XS. As of this morning has a positive review for the Arya Stealth. I bit the bullet and got one. i doubt you will get warranty other than the Aliexpress one. Manufactures warranty maybe? not sure.
These go for $2000 on Amazon.

I asked if it came with manufacturer's warranty and this was response (I don't know how trustworthy that is so take it with a grain of salt):

Hi,friend, this product has one year warranty, if there is something wrong with the product, you can feel free to contact us.

  • I also used a coupon and got it for $1416(including shipping). So might be worth looking around for a coupon. (not sure where I got the coupon)

    • What are you using to drive them?

      • +1

        HO100 and d10 bal
        so 1400mw x 2 into 32ohm
but want to get the new fiio k7 that is 2w I think

        • 2w sounds awfully loud like I mean speakers are 2 w really cheap or small ones lol

          • +1

@TightBungholio: Huge difference here. These headphones are planar magnetic so need a huge amount of current compared to a dynamic speaker like computer speakers. Voltage is loudness, and the current ability of an amp needs to keep up with what these draw

            • @Hamez89: How's the HO100? I've been looking at the DO+HO100 stack but it's almost double the price of the K7. That or the E30ii+L30ii stack for a price between the two. Any strengths/weaknesses?

              edit: meant to @derekab95 whoops

              • +1

@jeo: HO100 is very solid. don't think ive ever had it on full volume listening to the Edition XS and i listen to music loud with EQ. so plenty of head room. look at some reviews on youtube too.

k7 is very tempting but i don't think I'd hear the difference tbh. maybe if it goes on sale. Psersonally i want balanced o i would not get the E30ii. the d10 balanced is very similar, cheaper and I've read reviews saying people can't tell the difference between the E50, E30ii and D10b dacs. so id save money on your dac if i were you. or grab the k7 and be content, seems very solid! (and is balanced)

                • +1

@derekab95: Thanks for the quick reply :) I agree as well with the similarities between systems, might go in to Minidisc and try the K7 against some expensive dac/amps like the K9 pro or ifi Micro DSD Signature. I don't think there is an audible difference, but then again I've never seen someone drive an Arya, LCD-X or Clear with a Zen Dac V2. Only one way to find out I guess

                  • +1

@jeo: Just to confuse the issue more, check out the new smsl c200, its getting pretty good reviews for a budget all in one

                    • @Hamez89: Dang those look good, like a Topping DX3 Pro+ but with better inputs and outputs. Unfortunately, doesn't have a gain switch, gonna need to use them with IEMs and hard to drive headphones like the R70x. Looks like a really good headphone dac/amp though, especially the inclusion of Bluetooth and the remote for a unit similarly priced (and with the same outputs) as the Fiio K7.

                      • +1

@jeo: It has two gain modes of low and high, you just need to click into the menu on the multifunction wheel to get to it

                        • @Hamez89: Oh wow you're right, it ticks all the boxes then, I'll seriously consider picking them up. Thanks for the recommendation!

edit: We'll just ignore the Magni+ and Modi+ that was released yesterday

                          • @jeo: I had the magni modi, to be fair not these new ones, but i sold then asap. Just no life to them.

    • maybe use a referral coupon? I'm not the most experienced with Aliexpress so I'm not really sure how to get coupons. You can get another -$7 AUD if you make a new account.

    • Yeah you might be slapped with GST and processing fee (unless seller marks lower price on package).
Together with that potential cost not sure its worth a effort. Considering lack of local warranty and shipping anything back will take time and additional cost.

      • +1

I messaged the seller. They said they will mark the price lower to try to avoid this.

Really not sure how it all works though. Seems to be a responsive and reputable seller so I'm very much considering pulling the trigger.

My experience with AliExpress has generally been pretty good.

        • +1

yeah he said he would mark as gift for me too. was quick to reply also.

      • yeah, I'm tempted, too.

      • Does not look to be covered under Hifiman warranty.

The seller is considered unregistered and Hifiman won't have anything to do with it, all returns and warranty through the seller.

  • To any audiophiles here, for a more 'affordable' set of cans for both music listening and gaming would any of the following stand out to you? Leaning towards the 560s, and I also am aiming to find a good second hand deal, ideally I want to keep the price closer to 200 if possible. Also wondering whether we're likely to see any quality deals in Aus for Black Friday?

    HD560s + boom mic
    HD6xx + boom mic
    PC38x
    DT900 Pro X + boom mic
    Sundara + boom mic

    • +1

I've head that the best bang for your buck is the HD560s. I don't think all others will work with the boom mic because they require 2 inputs (left and right) the hd560s only requires one so will work with the boom mic. ( I have the Sundaras and they will not work with the boom mic)

      • +1

Ah I didn't even know that, so that's really useful information! I assumed there would be some way to run an adapter, but if it means having to look at a desktop mic or other alternative then that may have made my decision a little easier.

Also considered the PC38x, but it seems like i'd be getting overall better audio quality going with the hd560s. Cheers!

      • +1

DT 900 Pro X is only single cable and can be used with a boom mic. You just need to get a mini-XLR 3.5mm adaptor.

I use a VModa Boom with my 900s.

    • What are you using the headphones for?

6XX is awesome one trick pony for brilliant mids / Vocals for the price. If you listen primarily to bassy music, its not going to be as enjoyable.

      Generic listening 560 / 990

      • Primarily music (genres: all sorts of metal, some edm/drum and bass, few other genres) and gaming, so a wide soundstage would be particularly useful for this. Sounds like it's another vote for the hd560s, they seemed to be a really solid recommendation from the reviews i've read and videos i've watched. Thanks!

        • +2

I would suggest Sundara above all, but it won't get close to the 200 mark AND you need a decent amp for the headphones to really sing, which is another $100 or so.

          • @zeomega: Yeah I probably should have mentioned at this point in time, not looking to get anything that requires an amp - would say 300 is my max budget. Saw a sub-300 used pair on gumtree but seemed suspiciously cheap.

            • +1

@NedStark102: Easy choice then, its the HD560S. I couldn't bring myself to sell them and use them as my TV media/gaming headphones without an amp. The mids are the standout on them for me. Bad thing is they're hardly ever on sale now, maybe look out for a sale on Black Friday.

              • +1

@semaj94: Yeah seems to be the general consensus from what i've read! Have been speaking to someone on marketplace about a used set, but wondering whether it's worth holding off to see if any Black Friday sales go down towards the ~250 range. Cheers mate.

                • +1

@NedStark102: if its not urgent, wait for black friday. What have you got to lose? I reckon it will get there as businesses are ramping up sales prepping for recession.

                  • @zeomega: 560s absolutely. If it means anything, I recently just sold my Audeze LCD X's and kept my 560s.

They're super comfortable, light and open so I can wear them for hours and hours and not notice.
Big factor in me keeping them, the Audezes are obviously huge and bulky which was super annoying.

The 560s sound great, not as full and detailed as more expensive pairs but really easy to listen to and super clear.
I suck at games but the 560's have great imaging, and decent soundstage so great for directional audio.

X2hr with a vmoda boom pro is what i use for day to day, it works really well for a budget price

  • +1

This is cheap. If I don't already have the Sundara and Edition XS, I'd grab it for sure.

    • I am returning my XS and selling my Sundars for these haha (also probably selling my LCD-X 2021)

      • Can't return mine, had it for a few months already.

        • still amazing headphones. getting separation anxiety about returning them.

        • If they had it at this price back then I'd grab the Arya in a heartbeat. I waited for such a long time for a decent price but it never came, then the Edition XS appeared and it's all history.

  • This is an awesome price, but I'm just worried about warranties. Ughh don't know hat to do!

    • +1

Yeah I feel the same kinda. But 600 bucks cheaper is a steal.

You get the 75 day AliExpress warranty. I just messaged them then and asked if you get manufacturers warranty.

I'll let you know what they say

    • +1

      The reply was:

Hi,friend, this product has one year warranty, if there is something wrong with the product, you can feel free to contact us.

  • I am literally listening to a pair right now, driving them with the FiiO K9 Pro, insane pair of cans with amazing soundstage and imaging, bass may be a little thin and a little peaky on the high-end but it works wonderfully well with string instruments. I got them at a discount for US$1,000 last year, this is probably the cheapest I've seen them.

People should compare these to something like the HD800s, Focal Clear or LCD-X instead.

    • I tested them against the LCD-X a couple of months ago and I would chose the Arya without question. Listening to them made me feel a bit deaf listening to anything else in that price range. I own a pair of HD-6xx and the Arya were so much better is not even funny, a bit sad actually…

      • +2

LOL, what a comparison. I don't think you have to go so far as the Arya. I sold my 6xx as soon as I got my Sundara.

      • how are you comparing 6xx to Arya?

        • Hahaha only cause I own them and then I went to test the Arya xD not a fair comparison I know

  • Does anyone know if this is a reputable store? I've heard of knockoffs being sold as well 😬, but I really want to pull the trigger.

    • Not impossible to make, but you should be able to tell immediately with a cheap knockoff.

  • This price is insane. Bought mine for 1900 only a few months ago
