  • I have the 128gb version. Its a fantastic key-chain USB, good performance and "fits" perfectly in USB ports, doesn't get stuck or fall out too easily.

I agree with @goig986 that these are fantastic USB sticks. I have a ton of them kicking around my devices. I've recommended many times on OzBargain that people avoid the Sandisk Cruzer Fit USB sticks and spend a little more to get much, much better performance and quality with the Samsung Fit Plus.

  • Hmm I would like one to stick on my keyring but this doesn't look to have a cap does it?

    Any recommendations with usb C?

  • I use this to run Linux on my laptop. Not SSD speed, but OK. Hoping Fedora 37 runs my X55 modem, then Linux can migrate to the SSD.

  • this or a samsung bar usb?

  • This one or Sandisk Ultra Fit?

    • +2

The Sandisk Ultra Fit is basically all plastic and overheats very quickly. I bought a couple previously and after copying about 30GB onto one, I found it incredibly hot. I figured it was faulty and tried another. Same result. Reading up online about them convinced me to ditch them and I switched to the Samsung stick. The Sandisk MAY be okay if you copy files in small batches (and allow it to cool in between) and use it mainly for read functions (like playing MP3 files from it) but I wouldn't trust it with precious data.

      There's a great little speed test rundown here… https://www.everythingusb.com/mini-drives.html

If the overheating issue doesn't convince you not to buy the Sandisk then this read/write speed test will.

I’ve been using SanDisk Ultra for quite some time now and yes, you’re right that it does overhit quickly. Going to buy the Samsung one to replace Sandisk. Thank you for your suggestion.

  • Do these get hot like the Sandisk Ultra Fit?

    • +3

All these tiny USB sticks will get hot but the Sandisk Ultra Fit is the worst (its all-plastic design offers very poor heat dissipation). I've never had an issue with the Samsung.
