Quick google search shows bigw selling these for $45 each

I have had them since they first came out in Costco a few years ago and still going strong.

  • Hey OP do you know if the 3 metres can be connected in a series with a single power source?

    • I want to know this too.

    • +1

I just checked and the other end is just an open end of the strip - no connectors etc to allow for extension. However, I also know that normally the strips can be connected to each other using connectors etc. I am not you an expert, but I guess you might need a higher wattage/ voltage adapter depending on the total length of the strip. The included adapter is probably only for 3m.

      • The included adapter is probably only for 3m

Do you mean there are (3) power adapters for 3x 1-metre strips?

        • +1

There are 3 power adapters and 3 x 3m strips

  • Are these available in store?

    • Yes - I found these in my local Costco (Marsden Park, NSW) but the price was $89.99.

      • Cool. Anyone seen them in VIC? Seems like some items are online only of late. Or am i wrong?

This is good but probably not comparable as the ones in the OP are RGBW and waterproof. And also it doesn’t look like the adapter is included. So essentially you are getting 3 adapters and 3m of waterproof RGBW strips.

    · 2 years ago Good product, needs a better sticky tape
Have installed one under the top kitchen cupboards, one under the TV unit, and the other one under the bed - used some automation to turn on at 7pm, dim a bit and change colour a few hours later, and dim to 20% at 1am, and finally turn off at 6am.

    1. As a pack of three it's a good price (each is $40 elsewhere), but generally expensive.
    2. The app setup and everything is easy.
    3. The worst part is that they used 3M double sided sticky tapes, but they are not good at all, and we had to use super glue. This is not the nest practice when removing them.
    4. Some other brands have some L-shape as well as straight connectors, so you could cut and attach again in straight direction or 90-degrees direction. This brand doesn't have any connectors.
    5. I was looking for a LED strip that has RGB + White, which this one is. However, white and colour LEDs do not turn on together - which is OK. As long as the way LEDs are arranged is RGB-W-RGB-W-…, when either RGB or W LEDs are ON, you can see each LED individually rather than a continuous strip of light - not a problem if the strip is installed somewhere you can't see, for example behind the TV. In our case my wife doesn't like the look of the one installed under the top cupboards.
    6. Almost all of the "smart lights, switches, sockets, etc." that I have seen so far, are actually working under Tuya standard, and the good news is they could all be in one app (either Tuya or Smartlife). This means if Tuya lacks a setting, even if you install the Genio app, you don't get anything more. What I struggled to do was to have an automation like "Turn on the LED strip in blue, brightness 50%, 7pm". There is no such "automation" to "change colour" in the app, and usually the strips turn on in white colour - I said usually, because sometimes or rarely they turn on with their previous colour state. Long story short, I solved this problem finally by defining a "routine" in Google Home! My other option was probably to use my hass which is another long story…

    Overall, so far so good.

  • Does anyone know if these play nicely with Home Assistant?

    • Have been out of touch with HA for sometime now. A quick search returned this but I haven’t personally tried any.
