That's cheaper locally. i.e. only $15.98 delivered from JB

      • +4

        You're right, my bad.

    • -1

cheaper at JB HiFi for $15.98
Even cheaper if you can get the 20% discount to work.

EDIT: Beaten to the post by 46 seconds :/

      • ??

        more info pls!

        • The 20% discount is what I was interested in ;).

        • +2

I think that already includes the 20% discount. If you have a look at the ad on the side, it advertises the trilogy for $20, and then on the actual page for the product it says $16 including discount so I'm assuming the 20% off is automatically added.

        • ahhh! thanks very much.

That was 10 GBP for a while, might wanna wait for it to drop again.

  • Also, ordered Jurassic Park Boxset from Thehut for less than $19 delivered.

  • The Day After Tomorrow, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Independence Day for 10 GBP.

The Day The Earth Stood Still is pretty rubbish, but the other two are decent films.

  • Hi, what is the situation with the shipping from UK? It used to offer free shipping, how about now? Thanks.

    • i believe that there's no more free shipping offer from amazon uk (ended in January), which is a bummer

    • +1

It's no longer free, but still fairly cheap. Amazon UK removes VAT for international orders at the checkout, so a £12.00 item becomes £10.00 with standard shipping to Australia about £3.00.

      • 3.58. Zavvi charge 0.99 but don't remove VAT.

      • That is really not bad. Thanks for the info.

Matrix Trilogy = The Matrix + 1 coaster + 1 piece of plastic not even fit to keep moisture off tables.

    • I thought the 3rd matrix is known as a coaster protector

  • Are older movies like BTTF significantly better on Blu-Ray? How much effort have they gone to in the transfer from film? Should I upgrade from the DVD set I already have?

    • +1

      http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Back-to-the-Future-25th-Annive…

It's definitely worth it, a majority of older movies tend to be a lot better than their DVD counterparts, unless they completely stuff up the process, ala Predator which they abused to all hell with the DNR process.

I'd say It's always good to check reviews on Blu-ray releases before purchasing, but a majority of the time you'll be safe with purchasing a Blu-ray version of an older movie.

What Grimezy said. For $20 you can't go wrong. Give your old DVD boxsets away as gifts to friends/family who aren't into the "blu-ray thing".

      • ….unless they completely stuff up the process, ala Predator which they abused to all hell with the DNR process….

It's hard to believe that they didn't keep a backup, or the originals, so that they can't go back and "do it properly"

If they were shot in film (which they almost always are), they will look great in HD. The special effects and CG will not have aged very well of course, but that's hardly the fault of bluray.

In any case, it will look better than it did on DVD.

    Thanks OP. Purchased BTTF :)
Have dvd trilogy abroad and Blu-ray version in AU.

  • Winner thx, got 4 of the 5.

    • Have not shipped yet so hopefully tomorrow, 10th July.

      • Once they shipped it only took 8days 10/7 - 18/7.
        Bourne was delayed.

  • Awesome deal, bought BTTF, Bourne and Matrix boxsets.

  • Great deal! Unfortunately BTTF as far as I can see is not Region Free (all the rest are) so will it work in Australian BluRay players?

Would love to hear from those who buought from this offer regarding compatibility as I would love to get BTTF for my father.

    • +2

It says all regions on the Amazon page same as JP.

      • Thanks for pointing that out! Bought

    • Australia and Europe are in the same Bluray region. i.e. Region B

    • can I buy a vowel please?

  • Jurassic Park, Spider Man and Robocop are cheaper Zavvi and they offer free shipping

  • Looks like it has expired - BTTF is £30.49. Bummer.

    • +3

BTTF is still available for £12 plus delivery. Just click on the link above, then click on the "28 New" link. You will see the £12 option there. If that fails, just jump in your Delorean…
