…different mechanism of action to an antibiotic - this is just citric acid causing cell walls to break down/not transport correctly, they aren't incentivised to mutate a genetic defense to this = no chance of accidentally breeding a new strain of superbug in your drains.
(I swear I've had this explained simply to me a thousand times - apologies to any passing micro-bio students for my poor parsing of the concept.)
