No they're not, updated description for clarity. Thanks
this is so important. i bought a couple of non-foaming and it was terrible (dispenser shoots out watery liquid unless you try to catch it)
(dispenser shoots out watery liquid unless you try to catch it)
and then trying to explain the stain on your pants…
In the previous thread, someone advised on just adding water. I tried this out and it worked. My ratio is 1:1, give it a good shake, then the next day another good shake. I have a regular foaming refill next to it, and in A:B:X testing my wife couldn't tell the difference.
So the TL;DR is buy this, and mix 1:1. It's effectively 6L of Foam refill for $11.25, which would normally cost $37~
I feel like this kind of response is usually from people who haven't tried the a tual foaming one. At least my experience is that no matter what ratio you try, it is not as good as foaming.
@alUK234: We've been using real foaming refills for 2 years and probably 15L worth. I only just tried the hack (I bought 3L of non foaming and 1L of foaming just in case it was a fail). At least our family is convinced of the hack!
Honestly, you can mix it at a radio of up to 6:1 water: soap, and it'll still be fine. It'll still foam, but the foam will be easier to 'wash out' if more diluted.
Optimal ratio depends on the hardness of the water, but I usual go 3:1.
Amazon Warehouse sends these to me, but not Amazon directly.
Amazon price-matching Woolworths:
- Naturals Aloe Vera & Chamomile Refill 1L - $3.75
- Naturals Milk & Honey Refill 1L - $3.75
- Antibacterial Sea Minerals Refill 1L - $3.75
- Antibacterial White Tea Refill 1L - $3.75
- Antibacterial Soap Lime Refill 1L - $3.75
Cheers. Works out cheaper for me.
How? Amazon S&S is $10.12 delivered for 3 bottles…. that's $3.37 each delivered.
Woolies is $3.75 each pick up.Get 10% off from Everyday Rewards, plus gift card payment discount. And I don't need three bottles really.
OOS although a couple of them say temporarily out of stock, so might be available again later
Amazon will show out of stock if it doesn't ship to your location.
I just updated the links in the deal to force Amazon to show you the Amazon AU listing. Do you now see the following on the Amazon product page?
This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location.
Remember, mix 50-50 soap and water for your foaming dispensers
Upvoted your comment. But do you mind elaborating on why? Genuine question. Cheers.
Try putting 100% non-foaming liquid in a foaming dispenser and youll find out why, it doesnt foam! :P
I would recommend closer to 1/3 liquid hand wash and 2/3 water mixed for a decent foaming action.but now the soap has been diluted and wont be as effective? :v
you now need to dispense more for the same result..
surely the only way this is worth doing is if a single pump of the default soap does more than enough and it needs to be diluted :)but now the soap has been diluted and wont be as effective?
it wont make much of a difference in how effective it is…
@DarknessItself: The foaming soap is already pre-diluted. This is a cheaper way to do the same thing.
@DarknessItself: A single pump of the normal soap is way too much for, say, washing your hands. Wet your hands first and put about a 1cm line of the syrupy stuff onto your hands is enough, I find. I don't know what the price of the foaming stuff is but it would want to be half the price of the normal stuff to be worth it.
If you are diluting the product, note that you are also diluting the amount of preservatives that was appropriate for the original formula, and bacteria can grow more quickly. If you can use up the diluted soap quickly like within a week then it's probably ok, but if it takes many weeks or months, it's best to stick with the foaming variety.
I used to DIY foaming hand soap too but stopped once I realised that.
Although this may be technically correct, it is definitely an outlier example and would very rarely occur.
But… this particular soap is anti-bacterial :D
Soap won't grow bacteria
Not true. Any formula that contains water will breed bacteria without preservatives. That's why liquid hand soap contains preservatives.
Could you try mixing smaller batches?
You don't need 50% at all. One third soap is more than enough.
I only very rarely buy the foaming soap because some "flavours" are only available in foam. However, I also dilute the foaming soap by adding about 25% water and it works perfectly.
Just throwing out there that I followed this advice and tried lots of siffernt ratios but it is not the same. Does ot foam..yes but it is rubbish compared to the actual foaming wash
You must have done something wrong then :)
Could also be the dispenser.
Edit: Oh yeah, and any of the milky/cloudy ones don't mix well to foam. Only the fully clear ones.
Interesting. I've been doing this for years. Mainly with the Woolworths baleno branded soap. Mix the pink antibacterial one 50-50 in a Palmolive foaming dispenser and it works a charm. It needs to be shook and mixed well before dispensing for the first time.
Thanks for this - maybe I will give it another go and see. One other thing is that Woolworths have a cheap foaming alternative - I tend to use that these days.
Can I also check that you have compared the diluted version to the actual foaming product and find it performs similarly well?
which one to buy bro
Odour Neutralising Lime is my go to, nice mild citrus smell.
Milk and Honey is gentle in hand wash soap and smell.
I hate overly fragrant soap. I've been buying Milk and Honey for years…. love it.
These do not appear to be the foaming ones.
