Recommendation Living Room Rug for Children

We are moving into a fully tiled house with our 2 dogs & a 7 month old baby who's going to start crawling soon. Looking for recommendations for a soft/padded rug that will be good for baby & resistant to wear & tear as will be in a thoroughfare.

Does anyone owning a Neptune Mat or Muscle Mat have any feedback? Some people seemed keen on purchasing these a few months ago- have they performed well? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/705190

Anyone tried other rugs? Wanting something a bit thicker/softer than the typical pile rug.

Thanks!! 😁😁

Fukari rugs are my go to

Call and ask for Roger Ramsheet. Tell them I sent you.

    • Don't get your fingers burned at the fire sale.

i have a mat simialr to this
    BabyCare Kids' Play Mat Medium

had patterns, letters and car play and is non pvc

if not head to ikea and get the cheapest one possible! with kids, pets and spills and mistakes
get something cheap and easy to clean

  • Doesnt have experience with both however please note neptune mat i think couldnt be wash.

I am looking at ruggable, waiting for the black friday sale, cause this one can be wash (you’ll need to go to coin laundry for the bigger size one). However i couldnt trust my dogs not to ‘marked’ their territory. They are trained to potty outside with 24-7 access to their side yard however accident happen.

Thicker rug means bigger trip hazard if it’s in a thoroughfare.

Babies don’t really need super soft stuff for crawling on, it’s the adults that need extra padding when down on the floor with the bub

    • Yes this. Babies are happy to crawl on harder ground, plus once they start crawling you're not likely to be able to keep them confined to the mat!

      • Kids don’t even have kneecaps as babies. They only get them at like 2.

So, am I getting the rug, or the children? Posting is unclear.
