I quite like root beer and sarsaparilla, but these days haven’t been able to find a decent sarsaparilla brand. Does this drink taste anything like those?

CCA had a special drink per state that was only available in that state (more or less).
It was amazing until they reduced the sugar content.
Any idea what those special drinks were in the various states?
I know QLD was sarsparilla. My partner might recall, she worked for CCA.
Kole beer was originally by a WA company and coke bought the rights to it, hence being wa's drink

A&W or Dad's at Foodworks. Reject Shop has it (very rare) from time to time.
Love Sarsaparilla as well. Was always a fan of the Noddys/Slade's brands. The nicest one I have found since is the Bundaberg brand. Quite nice and often on special at the major supermarkets.

Sugar reduction is ruining all the drinks. Everything with sugar in it by CCA (or whoever they are now) except regular coke has been reduced is my understanding.
Red creaming soda also ruined :(
If only CCA would transfer the recipe rights to someone who would make kole beer properly.
Broke my heart when they silently swapped the sugar in regular Sprite for some other sweetener many years back and ruined the flavour.
Ahh, it's heaps noticeable with kole beer, have also noticed the red one also changed so what you said resolved it lol.
