  • Out of interest in a year if so when the battery dies, how do you replace it on these bikes? Most have a clip on style battery, which is easy to replace, but am I missing something with these bikes?

    • +1

I'm interested to know this too. Is the battery replaceable and is it easy to find the same battery

      • Probably good if the battery is hard to get out. Theft proof and if it does die in a year take apart and replace. not like it’s welded into the bike then the manufacturer won’t be able to fix

      • These versions have replaceable battery.

  • What ebike or scooter is easy to replace battery?

    • Any with this style battery. You use a secure key to unlock the battery and it slides out. You can also carry a spare battery in your backpack in case you need a swap (I'm guessing they are heavy but).

    • These versions have replaceable battery.

  • +1

Wonder if they have any mid drives on sale

  • id avoid any in frame battery bikes like the plague

also its $749.25 and you cant "stack" coupons

    • Agreed, better to get one with a removable for easy maintenance and swapping.

I was able to "stack" the coupons and get it to the listed price that op mentioned.

Store own code + ebay code = Ok

Replaceable battery mountain e-bike, $899.15 delivered here https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/143118277430
        Codes CRHNG and MYEBIKE15.

Also the commuter e-bike listed up top for $689.31.

      • I tried stacking the ebay code on top of the already auto applied one and it told me "nope", you have to be a premium member, listing doesnt point this out

        code "CRHNG" does actually work

        thanks Buy2Much

  • I am looking at the escooters.

be VERY careful (depending on where you live) as at least here in the city of Sydney, as if you are unlucky, and ive known 4 people so far, and the police decide to pull you over riding one, they can choose to hit you with not one, not two, not 3 but all 4 violations that apply to them, netting you a near $2,400 fine. like many i thought , "ill grab one it will be easier at journeys end for short trips to deal with a scooter"….but then i started seeing people get fined and watching the flood of cheap e-scooters flood the market here. quite why JB Hifi etc is even allowed to sell them is beyond me…

      • But i thought eScooters are legal so long as you wear a helmet?
What are the people in sydney charged for in relation to violation?

        • What are the people in sydney charged for in relation to violation?

unregistered motorised vehicle on the road.

        • +1

Only legal on private property in the city of sydney

No riding on roads, sidewalks, in parks, nada

Some councils in Sydney region are signed up to do a trial, but Sydney City itself was not slightly interested - i dont blame them after they quoted the stats of hospital admissions during Brisbanes trial, where they had an influx of injuries (one of the issues apparently people riding the things drunk and hitting other people). I also get it, theyre bloody silent and i can count the number of times per day some millennials or gen zers goes by close enough to feel them just clip you. Of course if you took the millennials and gen zers out of the equation that would solve half your problems right there….

There are a total of 4 infringements they can nab you on, sorry i cant provide them off the top of my head, but its not one, they cleverly get you on all 4 possible infringements, so that scooter can be quite a windfall to the city…

            @[Deactivated]:

but Sydney City itself was not slightly interested

Might also have to do with how badly the trial is going in Melbourne.
Many of the residents within the trial areas have had about as much as they could take, and I can see these soon being dumped in the Yarra similar to the ebike hires a few years back.

By the way, I saw about half a dozen e-scooters today in my suburb, not one of suburbs part of the trial, and none were wearing helmets.

          • @[Deactivated]: Its enough for me not to buy them. But I have to day sydney cannot enjoy technology as other countries do

        • +2

But i thought eScooters are legal

By the way, the police don't care if you are ignorant of the laws. They will book you regardless.

Watch out cos Mytopia are the only Valk stockists and they are unable to source any parts for any of their bikes, eg the brake pads have been out of stock for over a year.

    • -2

eg the brake pads have been out of stock for over a year.

      How do they stop then?

  • Any where to pick up no postage near Brisbane ?

  • $146.45 Postage is a killer

    • Seems like free delivery only to east coast metros…

    • I live in Townsville. I can bring it down to sydney when I return in Jan.

Does anybody here recommend going for a VALK ?

  • -5

I wonder how many times we have to post that ELECTRIC SCOOTERS ARE ILLEGAL IN NSW…..wake up!!

  • Was looking at a different bike (not listed in OP) but yeah postage $152 kills the deal. If only they were in Melb for pickup!

  • Today’s 10% flash code should give even better discount for some of the bikes above.

  • I just compared this one on their website and found it cheaper than eBay. Anyone else have check it?

    https://www.mytopia.com.au/valk-27-5-electric-hardtail-mount…

    • Ebay is cheaper when you stack both store code and eBay code (under $700) as described up top.

      • For me on ebay it is coming down to $674.32 after stacking the codes where as on their website it’s $664.29 after applying EXTRA5 code and they are going further $50 off if you pick up.

  • Bigger discount now when stack with eBay ZIP 15% off code XZIP15.
