I dont know what I was expecting from the video… but it was not 20 seconds of the carafe spinning around.

I have this one, there is no problem to keep water hot over night. Just a bit small for my family. 2.5L should be better.

    • How much water are you boiling each time tho? I think standard kettles are around 1.7L max?

If you need to do 2 rounds of boiling, may as well get something smaller like this 2L one and refill when you are running low.

worth paying more for a zojirushi or tiger?

      yes, Zojirushi is great

worth paying more for a zojirushi or tiger?

Depends on how much more, Thermos also a good brand.

      • as a couple we keep a 1.2 litre Tiger on the kitchen bench next to the electric jug - to top up for warm drinking water (Chinese healthy custom) or reverse for quicker reboil for filter coffee (I like fresh boil for tea - something about oxygen removed by reboiling)

the 1.2 litre is a bit small and quickly emptied, but a bigger one might lose more heat when half full so I dunno

I also have a Thermos 1.2 L s/s flask which says 24 hours hot AND cold (most don't) - which is great, but I cupboarded it as the process of unscrewing first the insulated cup/cover, and then unscrewing the inner plastic stopper is just a PITA compared to the benchtop thumb-press-to-open jug - I'm sure the Thermos flask keeps it hot longer, but we don't go camping so don't need it

otherwise when travelling or on long drives we always bring the Zojirushi vacuum bottles with the one-hand button flip-open lid for drinking hot coffee or tea while driving - we have a couple of sizes - 300ml and bigger maybe 4-600ml - Zojirushi consistently wins NYTimes pick - https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/zojirushi-travel-…

    • i have both. zoji keeps the water hot longer, maybe twice as long?

  • We have some of these at work
I’m always surprised how hot it keeps water
    The pouring is good too

  • Thanks, bought.

My glass vacuum insulated needs replacement, not keeping hot water long enough now.

And used my $5 Amazon promo credit.

  • Now 49.99

  • showing $49.99 for me

    • Back to 49.99. del expired I think

  • some pretty crap Amazon reviews - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B077LDRZ9L - sounds like you might need to buy replacement stoppers …

  • a lot of these Amazon deals seem designed to hook you into paying for Prime -

    '$31.50 (RRP $51.95) + Delivery ($0 with Prime/ $39 Spend) @ Amazon AU'

so - if you bought it at $31.50 - AND paid to join Amazon Prime - you'd still have to buy more shite in order to get the free shipping ?

sounds like a shippy deal to me - and gets my money-saving answer - 'NO'.
