250
TOP7OFF

Seemingly the cheapest AYANEO Air Pro, usual pre-order price is $1239-$1299 depending on store.

Can be cheaper if you have the "Spend and save" promo from eBay, Price should be $1,146.95 in this case, saving you an extra $31 dollars over the "TOP7OFF" code.

Niche product, but can be ideal if you're that correct person. Much better AYANEO hardware on the horizon with much better graphics performance. the gaming console is getting more and more expensive.

    • +3

      It's basically a laptop

      • +8

With 3 hours to a charge

        • +2

My gaming laptop lasted one hour of online gaming. 3 hours is super impressive

@belongsinforums: I’d argue a lappie’s more suited to gaming by a power outlet, as distinct from a handheld but if you like 3 hours to a charge then bully for you

            • @0jay: Guessing you don't have a switch

              • @belongsinforums: If a switch only gets 3 hrs I’m surprised they’re so popular

                • +2

@0jay: Convenience is a very important factor. Being able to play in the toilet is a game changer.

@Wonderfool: Gaming on the toilet? Gross. posted on Android from toilet

There is another version with the 6800 and the 680M. I reckon thats the model people should go for.

    • Different market. The neo 2/geek are switch size devices. These are pocketable devices.

That being said, these should've had the 6600u as well.

  • Keen to see what ayaneo and gpd come out with next year

  • What’s better, this or the Steam Deck?

    • +9

Deck, it will have more developer support

What's better, something you can buy or something you can't?

Pretty good device for the price especially considering Steam Deck is not officially offered here yet. But if you can go for the Steam Deck or Win Max 4 or even wait for the newer Aya Neo 2, I'd say HODL. Also the frequency of Aya lineup being churned out makes me feel a bit…uneasy for long term support.

    • Keep in mind, the delivery time for these devices are up in the air right now. The max 2 have been delayed for a month now.

With these, atleast they're already produced and are being actively delivered.

Probably better off importing a steam deck

    • +2

That's what I was thinking, and now supply has caught up import prices are dropping (though the AUD still sucks).

      • +1

Steam deck gaming performance also way better though it's beefier overall

  • Guys, grab the ayaneo geek while u can. For $1200 it’s the best deal.

    • Sold out on indigogo

Vega graphics. No thanks. RDNA2 or bust.

  • +1

Price to performance isn't there, hard pass.

  • You'd be better off importing a steam deck. Its significantly cheaper and has a much larger community following and manufacturer support.

    • +1

@tanksinatra Steam Deck is definitely better due to better performance and better manufacturer support, but it's not significantly cheaper since it would likely cost you at least AU$1200 to import the 512GB model.

It's still probably worth it to buy some of the newer non Steam Deck handheld such as AYANEO 2 or AYANEO Geek or OneXPlayer Mini which use Ryzen 6800 and Radeon 680M given that they'll have a better performance than the Steam Deck and they'll only be AU$ 300-400 more than the Steam Deck during pre-sale period.

      • My Steamdeck was a lot cheaper than that. I ordered the 64GB model using a VPN. After the currency conversion it cost me about $675 plus postage forwarding fee. Then I added a 1TB SSD from eBay for $200.
Total would have been about ~$950.

There's no waiting list for the Steamdeck any more, Valve are delivering it within a week now inside the northern hemisphere.

How did you get it from America to Australia, please? How long will it take?

          • @KKKK54: I have a relative who forwarded it to me. Shipping took about a fortnight. Had to create a new steam account to order and use a VPN. My aussie credit card worked fine when I used a USA address.

There are also commercial operators that offer the forwarding service, such as Youshop.

  • What is the best way to get your hands on a Steam Deck? Anyone have any experience with the stockx.com website linked above?
